I still can't believe that thing isn't an elaborate April Fool's joke that got out of hand.

Turns out, moto gloves are exactly the same thing, but cheaper (since 1997 or so).
Uh, no. Moto gloves are much thicker and don't have snot/brow wipe material on the thumb. It's really sweaty in the South and moto gloves are ok on a moto, but thin mtb gloves with terry cloth on the thumb are way better on the mountain bike. However I do love moto gloves for dirt jumping where I am frequently using a shovel while riding.

Suits you Sir?

Isn't this just another what's wrong with the industry thread?

Not that I've found, comparing the gloves side by side for year. You "can" find moto gloves that are much thicker, but I've always been able to find ample supplies of ones that are the same. They grip about the same size bar BTW. Plus, these are more expensive and don't have a nose-wiping pad:

You don't like their clipless pedals?? I'm finding their Mallet pedals pretty good... have E's and DH's. Their Highline dropper post is pretty good too. No complaints about mine.

You know what's gimmicky?? RS Reverb posts.

Oh yeah, and this whole 'design a bike around a water bottle' thing is gimmicky.

Nose wiping is amateur hour. Launching snot rockets at e-bikers is where it's at.
Catching them in our mouths swirling a bit of our flem in with that lovely wretchy sound and launching them right back at you while BOOSTING past is next level.

Do keep up luddites

Gimmick is lightweight for piss poor reliability. Much of their stuff has been gimmicky as heck and sucked balls, their wheels, their cranks (and their name has the word “Crank” in it!), etc.

Uh, BTW I do know since I've had a few motos. I wasn't referring to palm thickness. I was referring to weight of the material. In average, moto gloves have roost protection on the fingers and some kind of across the top of the hand. It's almost always rubber and in 90 degree/humidity that just doesn't breath during an mtb ride. Yep, there are offerings that don't have rubber roost protection. I know this (BTW) because I bought them for when I rode moto, on my motorcycle. Still thicker and less breathable than the thin MTB offerings.

If you want to be 'core' and cool because you find deals on last years moto gloves. Cool. I'm sure you like them and feel good about it. But saying it's a gimmick is a bit of stretch. Elevated chainstays, biopace chainrings, etc are gimmicks.

I never thought about it before, but how did braking work on the suspended hubs?
They moved up and down 1/8-1/4 of an inch...how did the canti pads not hit the tires?

Training accessories have become huge in recent years. Find a few instagram trainers and you will see them training with stuff that makes Southpark penis bike look reasonable so I'm not surprised this was released.

People are wimps, when it gets just a little cold or rainy, they'd rather be inside watching a TV on a "trainer" so they can check their phone and shit. When it's like this, I may not be able to ride the mountain bike trails, but I can definitely ride the bike paths and still have fun, if I spend that money on clothes that I'll actually use.

Accessories are not there to replace the bike. They are to suplement bike riding. I don't go to the gym because the weather is bad. I go because only bike riding won't help me fix certain issues I have when riding my bike.

There is a gofundme campaign for Jared Graves, set up by his wife and two others to deal with the income shortage due to his cancer.

You can sort the donations highest first.
That's the least I'd expect from them, and for that matter it's just a corporate tip. It doesn't change the fact their bikes are overpriced for what they offer, as with many other now fashionable brands. Call me when your currency exchange rate to USD is 40:1 and rising and you still want to donate some money.

Inverted single crown forks-No one has pulled off this incredibly bad idea successfully that removes the whole reason inverted dual crown forks work...

I didn't say that no one has made them, just that no one has made them as well as non-inverted singlecrowns. Structurally, it's a much less efficient design that requires far more weight or exotic engineering to approach the strength and stiffness-to-weight of a non-inverted design (torsional and lateral being the big issues), both of which if applied to a non-inverted design would make it far superior. Basically no point. Gimmick.

The Intend fork is supposedly flexy as an overcooked noodle...

torsional and lateral being the big issues
The number from CRConception show that their Fore models is far stiffer torsionally than a Fox 36:
37,7 Nm/° Fore Sc
35,3 Nm/° Pike
25,3 Nm/° Fox 36

Weight on it is competitive (under 2 kg for the 27.5") and braking stiffness is way better than any regular fork. Is the little lower torsional stiffness a problem? Not sure as everybody seemed to have happily moved to flexier wheels because "they offer other benefits". Lizards!
