12-14 hours from my place according to teh googlz.
Interesting, but I'm thinking there are a few places higher up on the list a bit closer...

I'd like to know more.
Cliff notes version as to not totally derail the thread.
Copper Harbor- Great riding, but not too much else given its location. Keeweenaw Adventure Co. for shuttles and supplies.
Houghton- Michigan Tech Trails, good variety of trail, buff and flowy, techy rocks, dirt jumps, DS track, and some old school freeride stuff. Small college town with decent amenities for beer, food, and lodging.
Marquette- Probably the most mileage and diversity of the UP destinations. North Trails for a more natural, rugged experience and South Trails for purpose built singletrack including some proper big boy features/ trails. Pretty good assortment of lodging and beer/ food.

We usually base in Marquette, mainly for the amenities and availability of non bike activities for spouses/ SOs. The riding, and outdoor community in general, is really strong in the UP and well worth the trip if you've never been. And depending which way you're coming from, you could also hit up Duluth and Bayfield for the full Lake Superior mtb experience.

The race coverage from people other than RedBull has been really good this year. The audio and photos from Sven, Boris and Dan on Vital are brilliant. CathroVision is straight up amazing. WynTV is hilarious and occasionally even insighful. I've completely skipped Redbull TV for some of the world cups this year - I get more insight and enjoyment from the other media.

Agreed! I'd add the Vital RAW edits, as well as the EWS 20 minutes highlights on Youtube to that list. I enjoy these quite a lot.

This may have been posted before, but just in case:

"Now for the record, at Hope we aren’t big fans of any press-fit standards. We much prefer a threaded bb. After all how can it be OK for a manufacturer to supply a replacement bb with a tube of glue? Also a bottom bracket standard which simply aids bike manufacture, while potentially sacrificing the durability and serviceability for the end user is not really acceptable."

My road bike has BB30, and I've had to take it apart and clean/grease everything a few times to get it to STFU.

I'd like to join the fun but the five press fit bikes I've had were flawless. The MTBs are BB92 and the road bikes are PF30 and BB386 (PF30 cups).
Sarcasm on the internet is also quite entertaining, maybe even more when expressed by foreigners like me! ;)

My experience with press-fit on 5 different bikes has been good too with one exception: one bike had to tight bb-shell which made a newly pressed BB creak during the first ride, the bb-shell eventually cracked and the frame was warranted. The other bikes have been used for many miles without any issue.

My own internet based theory is that many of the people complaining about press-fit have had problems with bikes equipped with 30mm spindles... maybe someone working in a bike shop could shim in with some hard data?

To be honest, that's been my experience. My DH rig with press-fit 24mm spindled cranks was silent. Now that I've upgraded to 30mm (super cheap e13 carbon cranks), it's been a noise-fest down there. Kinda annoying, and regardless of other people's experiences, I do think that a threaded BB is the better solution.

In hell. Welcome!

Finally, White Industries will soon be offering colored versions of their BSA 30 threaded bottom brackets. Originally just available in silver, they will now come in black, yellow, blue, red, pink, and purple. Silver BBs will start at $120, black bumps up to $127, and the other colors will come in at $140, and all will be available next month.

$140 for two cups with steel bearings?

At this point I don't even know what's good or bad anymore, so I didn't bat an eye when I saw the $140 cups posted here.

I like this, but you have to buy a special tool to install which kinda sucks.

Went do do my first oil change for my 34. It actually had oil in it from the factory. Probably a QC oversight.

After watching that Martin Whitley interview from Losinj, I'm pretty pumped - seems like a big step in the right direction changing the start order and getting it bumped to 8 races, with 3 races that weren't on the schedule last year. More variety is great, and so is the UCI getting 8 races that are funded and set.
Word on the street is that one of those 8 races will be a venue new to hosting a world cup. In the US.
