My Trumpian relatives on my mother's side throw a big bash in Midland, Virginia the first Saturday in November.

The first year I went down, I just used the van, froze my ass off pretty good at Elizabeth Furnace Recreational Area, where I got some decent riding in...

Last year, I hauled the R-Pod, planned some riding but got bollixed up by seasonal shit, campgrounds having closed down.

This year I'm thinking about hitting Raystown, Seven points will be closed, but I figure i might be able to boondock in the parking lot by the office, not sure...

Wouldn't mind finding someplace I could hole up maybe Scranton way, air pollution be damned - @jdcamb has suggested Carbondale in the past, but the campground there, of course will be closed...

Suggestions?

Discovered new problems with new boiler & piping around it before it has been even inspected. FTS.
We sleep at trailheads.
I'm roughly planning that. Since I'm hauling the pod, I'm more visible and take up somewhat more space. Currently thinking Vernooy Kill State Forest, in Kerhonkson, NY, and State Game Lands Number 80, Pine Grove, PA.

Check out: www.freecampsites.net

We’ve used them extensively throughout our travels and have seldom paid for camping on this trip. Descriptions usually include what size rig can fit into sites, maximum stay lengths, seasonal restrictions, etc...

You can also use Campendium (website and app) to find camping spots.

public service announcement......montana is by far the best state for not fucking with people who pull over and sleep on the side of the road....spent the night at numerous pull offs/scenic overlooks over the last five years.....never hassled....

Merli is not closed. The campgrounds are adjacent to the game lands and the campsites are all reserved. You can still ride there. But I wouldn't. I would go to Jim Thorpe. Campsites are first come first served.
