ok, back from the hospital, let's get to shitposting:

i'm excited that this exists.

Hard-ONs:
It's built by DW, so a lot of math and effort went into it, and despite all the marketing, it'll probably ride pretty good
It's a linkage fork that may actually exist
They put handling first, which could have good results compared with forks that put small bump or brake dive first
it's relatively simply compared to a girvin style vector fork
130mm is pretty reasonable for a shorter travel 29er bike

Hard-OFFs:
It's built by DW, so despite how well it rides, it's going to be obscured in a lot of ad-speak and garbage and some weird metrics that don't really make sense off the engineering table
It's three times as expensive as a decent front fork at FMV
They put handling first, instead of small bump, rigidity, or brake dive
It's relatively simple compared to a girvin style vector fork, and probably will struggle to move outside of the realm of a short travel trail bike.
130mm is too short for an enduro sled and enduro is the only thing that matter ever.
also, three clicks of compression? two air springs (more seals, more stiction)? Proprietary BS means the damper will likely suck even if the chassis is great (see cannondale lefty)
15mm axle

I guess we'll see. I'll keep my eyes peeled for when they are $699 on jenson or the inevitable knockoffs come down. I can't wait to hear RC's review, he's perfect for this.

Meh. He has a history of designing long travel XC bikes that handle like long travel XC bikes. Will this fork be different? I doubt.
That said, I love my DW link DHR, but I rarely pedal on that thing.

@Tantrum Cycles survived the wrath of RM and is not missing.

Just look at this fork. No matter how good it rides, it's still expensive and looks completely different than anything else on most bikes. It's goofy as hell and looks like a pair of alien legs are strapped to the front wheel.

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out or if they have other products in the works. A cheaper longer travel one maybe?

From the empty beer review. Who comes up with this bullshit?

Trust Effect: Trust Effect is a sensation that makes you realize you can have more control, compliance and confidence. It is the combination of Ratio and Caster effects that result in a third effect — the Trust Effect — which is a sensation that the bike pedals as though it’s running XC suspension but descends like an enduro suspension. Simply put, this Effect is a multiplier for your front end performance.

Really? I remember a whole lot of ass kissing.
Same here. I actually remember RM to be quite instrumental in the hyping of the EVIL brand and DW link. It was all very positive as far as I remember it.

I also remember dw certainly used RM for his diligent search of prior art relative to suspension design in his "Old and obscure suspension design" thread.

I don't recall any negativity toward dw...I'm not saying there hasn't been any, but I'm pretty sure that, overall, RM has been much more beneficial than detrimental to his success.

That's pretty much what it was. Lots of people worshipping the god that walked amongst them, and when he got called out for his bullshit claims (of which there was plenty), he stopped coming around. Now more recycled trailing-link bullshit.

Ya, but I'm an actual asshole from the way wrong side of the tracks

It IS a tremendous time suck, but I actually learn some things here.

There are reasons I look at what is right/wrong with the industry, for example.

Right now, I'd settle for a little video of the fork being pushed down.

Has anybody seen anything in actual motion?

I don't count that IG video

DW does claim it seperates suspension forces from the handlebar. I don't know how that works, but maybe there is some magic in there that makes you manual all the time, which would support those claims.

My guess, just another LSC hocus-pocus. There is no third and fourth point of force engagement like a chain.

You can't push the handlebar down man, you've got to push the ground up towards the wheel. Science.

What is that godawful noise?

So now if I had that fork on some pleb bike like my Transition Scout, there'd now be at the very least, 16 pivots. Hmmmm. Might as well buy one of @mykel's used Knolly's.

After they sell the brand off to Pivot or SRAM or whomever, DW is coming back at us in 2020 with a sick new brand called FAITH.

The logo will be in old english font knuckle tats and the product will be a carbon...

LINKAGE SEATPOST.

I got to hand it to him: I’ve been running data acquisition on my taint spanker all season and the telemetry results at the saddle end of things are unbelievable, bros.
