Figured I'd throw pictures up of fuckitturdsday ride at Mont Ste Marie in Québec:

vandalism can (sometimes) make signange better...

nice views

sketchy steep switchbacks, washed out trails, loose rocks, wet/frozen leaves... interesting....

leafy...

very cool ice formations

finally into the steeps to finish it off

(also happy to find that my brake bleed was successful).

finished at the car for lunch... and breweing a fresh coffee. There was beer too, but is there anything better than a fresh coffee on a cold day? (too bad my thermos is fucked. didn't keep the water hot. must be a leak somewhere, caus' the water was luke-warm at best...)

^^^I heard that that is referred to as fall season.
yes. in both senses of the word! hough Saturday was ridiculously dry... after 2.5 hours of riding and over 30km, the bike had nary a spec of mud on it. crazy. though that might have been the last day of those conditions, after Sunday's snow/rain/slush event.

Annual attempt during the last weekend of October to get up high was foiled by the snowline in the trees at ~10300ft.

Did a Dual Pump Track race at Truckee Bike Park over the weekend. Fun times and I randomly parked next to a guy with a Ride Monkey sticker on his truck. Turned out to be @Scrub. It's always cool to meet a Monkey in the wild!

went from 26” ex500s on hopes to 27.5 ex471s on the same hopes...just getting crap for finally putting appropriate sized wheels on the nomad :D
Ahh... the luddite sheen wore off? Understandable. I'm a fan of 27.5beez. Sell the hoops to HAB.

Sweet wheels. I'm on the the Flow MKIII program. My mech buddy built me up some kickass wheels which have taken some fairly irresponsible abuse to date. Alas, I have ///crappy hubs. Total hub cost: $70. I'll get myself onto a rear hub with better engage///ment someday...

buddy is perhaps the best wheelbuilder in the region. old hoops stood up to ridiculous abuse for 7 years. i think i trued them twice. bent out a dent or two. maybe replaced one spoke. i expect these to do the same.

What was a freaking circus just a week ago on the new trails is now freaking deserted. Did our new "tech trail" and was able to roll all the difficult root lines on my fatbike with the seat up. Still a blast to come down and much better than I thought it'd be.
