Not really a team rumour, but in the World Cup article on PB today, a user who I assume is David Vasquez commented saying that RedBull will be airing limited qualifying runs.

That'd be sweet...

was just reading that... did you catch the bit that the 10 race calendar is currently limited by Red Bull's broadcast budget and not the UCI?

^that was a bit surprising. and that there's 15-16 legit venue applications per season.
yea that definitely surprised me as well, especially for a company with as deep as pockets as redbull. they did also mention the viewership is up was well. if that trend continues i suspect it would be easier for them to justify a larger budget to cover more races.

edit: more races would also put more strain on team budgets, which is something to consider.

On a side note, Red Bull HQ over here in Arnie Land reported record earnings a few days ago.

I love that Loic learned his English interview technique from british builders.

It could have been excellent, but maybe my expectations were too high...

I found that was too long for too little information and fun parts. I would have cut the fuckers who simply dodged the question. Real answers only or no exposure for you. I doubt YT would be angry at Gwin for saying he'd be interested to try another successful bike, like the Commençal for example. Recognizing your competitors are offering great products is not a weakness.

It was interesting how quickly some of them had an answer too. Like Gee, there was no hesitation.

I was kind of surprised that Mark Wallace didn't say Devinci.

agreed. A few of them were being way too political.

Just be like, "fuck that frenchie is flying, i wanna see whats up with that rig!"
Yeah I hate that coy nonsense. I liked the blunter answers and the riders who had clearly and honestly thought about it. Laurie has obviously done his homework on stuff. Ed Masters knows his stuff too.

I was pleasantly surprised at the ease which some riders answered it, and wildly annoyed at the ones that on purpose didn't answer it properly. Gwin, the Atherton woman, etc. "Hurr, durr, I'd ride Niko's bike."

No you wouldn't. You're off YT anyway.

Really? You don't think that a bike sponsor would be mad that their rider is basically saying 'if I wasn't getting paid to ride this bike, I'd ride that bike' which you could certainly read as, 'If I had to buy a new bike I would buy ...'

I understand what you mean and I agree it can easily become a slippery slope...but the question was: "If you could not ride your current bike or a bike from your current sponsor, which one would you choose?"

There's plenty of good answers for that question that won't make the sponsor look bad:
- The Commençal/Specialized/YT because it seems to be working well for Amaury/Loïc/Gwin;
- The XXX because I know the bike from a previous sponsorship deal and it's important to know the bike to perform well;
- The bike from rider XYZ because we have a similar riding style;
- A Unno because it's the most expensive and I'm vain like that.
- The Honda because I always dreamed of trying it.
- An idler pulley like the Commençal or Norco because I used to ride a Balfa BB7 when I was a junior and it would be fun to test a new version.
- The Devinci because #longlivechainsaw
- A 26er because fuck you.
- The Polygon...wait, who am I kidding? I'm not riding that ugly POS.
- etc.

Do you mean that they will bring back the Fulcrum?
I've zero interest in Cannondale bringing out a new DH bike at all but hopefully with the influence of 50to01/Fabric they'll follow the design of the Habit up with an Ebike version. Cannondale's current Moterra Emtb is pig ugly, heavyAF, has shit geometry and has a bosch motor.

Because an e-bike is going to save the dumpster fire that is cannonade. The best thing they have done is retro paint from when they had relevance.
