the Rock House restaurant was packed last night but the food and music were really good.. The slow service meant that Ruth and I had the time to just sit back, unwind and talk about boatloads of stuff. a very enjoyable evening. Long day of work ahead all dialysis clients, First EMT standby of 2019 Sunday, Fly fishing on Monday if the weather holds.

Progress is being made on kitchen remodel. The recent cold spell is helping limiting procrastination.

Warming up at Lunch Rock with Mariko. She’s skiing with me today. Yes, I’m sacrificing a powder day to ski with my kid.

So I've been organizing a Furlough Friday for the last two Friday's (and future ones) where I pick a brew pub and some of us from work meet there at 1600. Had a pretty good turnout, 6 or so of us and a few wives. Everyone had some food and drink. When it came time to pay the bill, someone had anonymously paid it. Pretty cool.

Back home. On mountain for about 3 hours. Spent more time driving the car/having it drive itself. Mariko was more interested in not skiing than skiing today, which is fine except that she should have made that decision last night so that I could go skiing on my own.

As it was, it was quite the shitshow: on the roads, in the parking lots (people crowding the aisles and making fake spots), and on the slopes. Way too crowded, especially if one is a 5 year old who likes to go slowly on little paths through the trees, the same paths favored by 20 year old idiots going way too fast on crowded runs.

Oh well, no one died, still got some turns in, and got to see Mariko ski. She's improving.

Hello, friends. Ran 22 miles this morning (7:19 pace) and now my legs ache. Wife took me out for gyros after, and I stopped at the cupcake shop too.

Got my douchey tri bike back from the shop. $700 total for the full tune up and new everything, of which I thought I got off easy.

Curious why you see a correlation here?
Having gone to a lily-white (Episcopalian) east coast private school, the smug entitlement of the religious right as they "punch down" on minorities while at the same time decrying religious intolerance is a bit much.

No offense to Catholic schools was intended, but abdication of Jesus' teaching in the face of #MAGA has been fascinating* to watch

Spinning trainer did not show up so I volunteered to motivate the people who showed up. I put the through so XC hilly riding simulation and the people were happy.

Not that version of catholic school.
None of the teachers are clergy; we’re not religious.
Just a great academic school with a mission of service and a surprisingly diverse student body.

In a van.... down by the river
1h45m up to Mary Jane, 1h20m down. Sign said all lots were full, we drove in and found a spot in the front row.

Only sacrifice made was no fresh tracks on main runs. We had to go off the beaten path a bit too get some knee-deep.

Missed the good doctor, unfortunately.
