Sticking with DH for now, here's my DH bike back in 2008, Turner Highline in 7" mode with a Marzocchi 66 RC2X.
And in 2018 I was on a GT Fury World Cup, Boxxer Team.

Going back that far brings back memories of skinny bars.

Had a Norco Sasquatch at the time. Fun bike and got beat to shit. Still have this frame and those boat anchor cranks.

Then not long after I got tired of the hardtail bouncy mcbounceface bullcrap and picked up the original Transition tr450.

i had this uzzi vpx for about a year sometime around 2009. i think i got my uzzi vp in 2010 and kept it as my “one bike to do it all” until last year when my nomad took over.

Had a series of Norco Shores around that time. Each alas only held up for a few month before cracking. I sold the 3rd frame before ever riding it. Good on Norco for excellent warranty service however.

Got a Demo 8 now for DH and FR days

That M1 was BRAND NEW when I bought it. Was going nostalgic. It may have been 2007-2008 can't recall. Had it about 6 months. I had a 1 of 3 M3's that where made with a 1.5 HT and lower BB than stock. Should never had sold that.....

Love the M1 and also your special M3. Are you sure there were only 3 of the 1.5 HT M3s in existence? There were some produced for the 8" Manitou Travis single crown testing and press demos and the MS Racing team was riding this type of frame as well.
I twice tried buying one of these frames, both times someone else got them. :disgust1: :banghead: :shakefist::rant:
Guess one time it was your old one.

Need to toss some riding shots in

Hardtail hucking it back in the day on my old Astrix. Loved that bike, what a tank. 66º HT with the 66 and custom drop outs on it. It was awesome on the DH and drops.

Most recent decent shot of me riding last spring on my Stumpy (Has a Helm out front now)

Lower than stock BB was pretty much every other M1 ever made depending on how poorly aligned it was. Mine was around 12.25"..... The swingarm also had a couple inches of transverse left to right swing when it moved up and down too.... Gave it away to a buddy that turned it into a ski bike.

Funny, I know someone that turned an old M1 into a ski bike too.

Funny that everybody is complaining that Intense frames are out of alignment. I own and have seen quite a few Intense bikes but I don't think I have ever seen anything like what you describe. And you are aware of the fact that the swing link has 3 shock mounting holes so that in the lowest the BB would be super low, especially with a 7" fork that then frame was designed for at the time?

I got the hardtail bug again in 2009 so I bought the Armadillo, then realized I didn't have the hardtail bug, so I bought the Turner 5-Pack. The Turner has since been replaced with the Shred Dogg (in Megatrail SS attire), but the Armadillo is still kicking around for friends, pump track, and winter. Looking back at all my old bikes was fun, but I don't think there are any I truly regret replacing.
LOTS of good memories with friends around all of them though!

:DYeah. I think it is the angle of the pic, but that was after a pretty mundane trail ride with lots of pedaling, so it is at max height, just not 2 feet like it looks.
I like it better there. I tried it the "standard" way, but it just feels more natural for my thumb mounted up top.

I just realized that the wheels on my 2009 DH bike are still on my current DH bike. Makes a strong argument for the durability of 823s and Hadleys in strongwheel(TM) configuration.

Yeah, its a 2010, but I still have it and still run over things with it (slowly)
You have some good taste! :clue:

I had one of the OG Spitfires and loved the bike.....until it self destructed.

Fun bike with that coil fork, short stem and code 5 brakes. The Ardents kept it interesting, though. :busted:

@jackalope and I have long held that that bike was way ahead of its time aside from the SNAFU with the bushings. In 2008 who else was making a 125mm bike with sub-13 inch BB and 65* HA? That thing was so damn fun! Banshee got a bunch of shit right with that bike.

Both bikes are/were fun. Miss the 26" wheels. Like the new geometry. The Covert was a good and capable bike.
