Re: The imbalance between 180mm front and 0mm back. i.e. a hardtail with a 180mm fork.

The designer of said bike says it's an imagined issue, by people on the internet. He wrote this on the same said internet. This dentist doctor sounds like a fun guy to hang out with.
Clark IS a fun guy to hang out and ride with. Personally I like my hardtails a lot more traditional, as I have a nice squishy too for when it gets rowdy and gnarly, and I think the bike in question is marginally kooky, but hey, they ride them hard on gnarly trails and seem to like them, so who the fuck cares?

Yeah, I don't really care - people can ride whatever crap they want... they can also spew whatever they want to try to sell you on the idea – it's mtb after all... and its your choice to ride/read/buy whatever. I just find it pretty bone-headed to say, "they're saying crap on the internet" while responding in kind on the same said internet.

Clark is what's right with the industry. we need some kooky stuff to keep things weird.

There's still guys riding Rampage without chainguides though so what do i know.
If there's one thing we all know about rampage, it's a pedal fest that relies highly on lots of crank turning!

I had a buddy of mine lose his chain 4 out of 5 stages at a local race before he decided to get one.
Stages?

Is he a rocket?

It's enduro, I have to. I literally can't help myself.

So it looks like one of the major bike companies just decided to quietly quit the DH market in the US, cause there's no giant glory available in the US as far as I can tell for 2019.

You can always put a Giant sticker on an Intense. ;)

Too bad. As much as Giant is unsexy, that bike was a staple for young racers and budget riders for years and years.
Agreed, If giant would hire some damn marketers for the things they could probably have a greater presence. When you get right down to it, there aren't many bikes as dialed as the glory in all areas, from top notch suspension, quality, and builds. It's a top 95% level great bike, and while they're not the most accessible from a price point as they once were because of new companies like YT, they remain a really fucking good bike for the money at what remains a lower price point. I wonder if they have something new in the pipes for 2020 or if they just decided to say fuckit, sell remaining stock, and call it a day on DH.

maybe they just didn't move enough volume in the US to justify marketing it here? it's still available in other regions.

Let's put a bunch of stress risers on a highly stressed part...what's the worst that could happen?

From what I have heard Giant doesn't care about consumer sales. They would rather build the bikes for the other brands like S and not deal with marketing, shipping, warranty and all the other BS. They just sell some bikes to the public for shits and giggles.

everytime the big E (lol) comes up, i think of the story of how he wouldn't let people use his toilet because he wouldn't let his wife clean up after other people (or some nonsense like that). i really miss hbcutthecourein1990.

Literally every time that brand is mentioned.
