that's the case with my road bike. discs hit that field hard and fast and now there's random shit like flat mounts and 12mm front through axles to deal with. I'm on QR with IS brakes, so I'm gonna have a bad time. Was thinking about upgrading my frame but looks like that's out too!
i'm in an odd spot on the road side. i got an "early" iteration of road disc. all QR. but the rear hub spacing is the "traditional" rear road hub spacing of 130mm, but is 6 bolt rotor mount. this config was only made for a hot minute before the industry jumped up to 135 spacing (to give extra space for the disc/caliper). this was before things really got standardized with thru axles, but the end result is if i ever need a replacement hub, its gonna be almost impossible to find.

then again, my "road" bike is actually a cross/touring bike, was a nashbar special, and i really only use it to tow the kids around in the trailer.

I bought a cheap diamondback, ended up replacing everything except for the derailleurs with shit I bought from the UK, and now I'm thinking about replacing the frame. That's part of the reason I'm looking for an old hybrid- I've got practically everything to put together a nice low-end road bike, but my wheels won't convert to 12x12, so everything is just awful.

its funny, most of the stuff on my "road" bike is mountain. drivetrain, brakes (i had to get retroshift levers/shifters to use mechanical mtb disc calipers with a set of drop bar levers because the throw is different).

Since me & the lady are both doing this kitchari thing together, we both woke up in a thick cloud of farts, that smelled like hing, cumin & ghee.
nothing a smudge of palo santo & a stick of nag champa couldn't fix tho.

chowing down on some steel cut oats & honey now. so tasty.

WTF are you talking about?

Good Afternoon!!

Yesterday, it snowed for over two hours. Today, it's 75 degrees and I'm wearing a T-shirt. Welcome to North Carolina....please enjoy this complimentary case of the flu while we process your application.....

It says I'm not supposed to smoke 24hrs prior to my surgery....it clearly said nothing about edibles.

Overheard in coffeehouse:

In all seriousness, the name written down was Liz Anya. I thought I was reading it wrong, but she really introduced herself as Liz Anya...

I just got back from the dentist. what I thought was an improperly installed crown is actually an impacted tooth. so now the tooth has to be removed and an implant (or a bridge) installed. I think I will go the implant route because they seem more sturdy. but goddam, there goes the carbon wheels I was(n't) going to buy. grrrr

Well, that was fun so far. Met up with a friend I haven’t seen in 35 years for coffee, which was great. Then Alcatraz, then Ghiradelli Square. Now chill, then Haight Ashbury, then Chinatown.
That should do it.

@stoney .....what the hell or how the hell happened with your chest problem......
Basic summary? I've had a funny little lump on the side of my boob for about 10 years. A derm then told me that it was a fat globule and to not be worried unless it grew quickly, so I just ignored it. I basically did for 10 years and in the last year it went from lima bean sized to ping-pong ball. That's big enough to concern, so I went to a derm. He did his full inspection and in the process of trying to figure out measurements and depth, apparently popped it.

He sent me off to get an ultrasound to see more what it is, and when you are a man over 25 and have a chest ultrasound, apparently you get a mammogram. That took the already irritated, squeezed bump and got it squeezed even more. End result? A whole bunch more shit probably got squeezed out and created an abscess. That abscess spent last Tuesday through Sunday getting progressively worse and worse. However Wifey was out of town and I was home with just the girls, Hannah who was properly sick, so I couldn't deal with myself. I didn't get to a dr. again until Sunday evening. By then the abscess was seriously infected and golf ball sized.

Fast forward to yesterday: I got the packing pulled out last night, which was 3' vs. my assumed 2'. The dr. was adamant that I get into a surgeon within 48 hours to have a more thorough inspection of the wound. I got an appt with a surgeon tomorrow at 11am.

That's current status.

Hey - next time the shit hits the fan (or the abscess hits the moob), let me know - I'll come keep an eye on your kids while you take care of your titties (or whatever comes up). :thumb:
