Good quotes in there from Beto, sounding quite reasonable.

I like this one about implementing a Medicare for all system without wholesale overnight disruption:

What it says is, if you like your employer-sponsored insurance, you like the network that you’re in, you like the doctors that you can see, you’re happy with that, you can keep it. If you do not like your employer-based insurance and want to enroll in Medicare, you can. If you have no insurance whatsoever or if you are underinsured today, you can enroll in Medicare as well.

And I think people might be surprised how many companies happily throw in on this and simply get rid of their employee health plans. I'd wager the migration to single-payer might actually be quite rapid (and more importantly, voluntary).

Mariko just saw a photo of Bernie Sanders in my news feed. (I happen to be wearing my Hindsight is 2020 Bernie shirt, too.)

Her comment: “Is he still alive?”

:D

I’m curious to see how big the Dem base, voter and donor, really is if the centrists are pushed aside.

"Someone Else" is beating CO.

I think I approve of Warren being at the top of the list, not that I'm fully aware of her policies, but at least she's not older than dirt.

Debatable. IIRC she just turned 70. That said, I'm not a believer that age itself is a disqualifier. Pretty sure she is still younger than trump, Bernie, or Biden

I have no idea where I am
While I do genuinely admire Warren, her nomination would only ensure another win for Herr Twitler. She has an uncanny ability to galvanize conservative women against her.

Correct, just a few days ago, didn't realize she was now 70's but the extra ~7 years the others have on her is noticeable.

:stupid:

I like Warren because she is wonky and nuanced, which is why she makes a horrible candidate in a country determined to celebrate ignorance. Last weekend Maher called her a "Three syllable candidate in a one syllable country". I think that's pretty accurate.
