It's fox air springs that I still haven't ever liked. But I haven't ridden a 2018+ fork other than a 40.
The newer 36 Float spring that forgoes the transfer shaft and uses a dimple in the stanchion (i.e. the one that's a copy of what RS has been doing for a while) is a little lower friction than the prior one, but it's not night and day or anything. I think the latest 40 Float spring is pretty good, but I'm not the most picky about getting maximally smooth breakaway force.

What has Grip2 damper got to do with TALAS spring?
^What he said. I even rode some grip1 dampers that felt great.

Ahh, excellent points. I guess the stupid has been spread around to include me. Still, FWIW my experience with the new forks (air springs and dampers) has been great.

Agreed. That's why I dropped a Smashpot in my '19 Float Grip2. And the pictured legacy Van with the '15 RC2 damper is still better than any air spring.
