Did you show them the episode of that guy trying to learn to ride the bike with the backwards steering?
no. but it sounds interesting. we watched him try to get a golf ball to plastically deform, film shockwaves off a cracking whip, and make coloured vortices smash into each other... cool stuff. Also watch Mark Rober make a snowball cannon with a leaf blower!

Last day of work before 10 days of bikes, beers, camping and driving around. Starting it off spending the weekend at the girlfriend's parents cottage up north.

Going to ride some rox and tech tomorrow. Did this same ride last year before going away to Pennsylvannia and the rear hub on my bike broke. That was fun getting a replacement in time before the trip. Praying we don't have a repeat this year...

WOOD RIDE

struggling to focus and write a grant this morning. coffee not helping. been thinking about lunch since i got here. if this drizzle would stop, i'll leave early, go cut out a tree, and get in a quick ride this afternoon. weather looks kinda crappy this weekend. was planning to go for a hike on sunday with the fam. we shall see.

So Wednesday I went and had an x-ray done of my shoulder/clavicle. My doctor's office called this afternoon to say the shoulder is fine, but there's a spot on my lung that warrants a second look. So now I'm at the hospital again for an x-ray of my chest. Not gonna lie, this makes me nervous.

ERP system implementation at work postponed 3-6 months because I told them my workstream (payroll) is not ready. Senior management took it surprisingly well. I mean, worst case scenario is they fire me, which I would welcome at this point, and I hit the job market as a new Workday-certified payroll professional. As this relates to mountain biking, this means I am a go for June Nembafest at Kingdom Trails.

Also, I've got a 5K race tomorrow. Shooting for an 18:30.
