Unbuilded a bunch of stuff on the camper yesterday, fixed a couple things. Need to build some things back into it today so we can use it next weekend. Like a floor.

One nice thing about being out of town. I don't have to go play nice with the MIL today. I get to loathe her from a distance.

Coffee, yogurt, dump, then amble over to the show office to grab a portable com radio off the charger and start work

Enjoying breakfast on the patio watching the break. Finished "The Diamond Age" yesterday, which is a lose sequel to "Snowchase". Good, but not a write home book. Still listed on NPR's top 100 sci-fi and fantasy novels list though.

Have to leave in about an hour. Managed to get A34/35 for our flight, so I might get an exit row for comfort. Did find it amusing how many places pushed to have transactions done in dollars vs. pesos. Market conversion is ~19.25:1, but most places used 17:1. Lots of restaurants pushed you hard on dollars because they were using shit conversion rates.

Our trip for 4 nights including 2 fancy pants dinners out, a rental, etc will be less than $1200. That's cheaper than our 3-day President's Day weekend to Copper Mtn. Fucking ridiculous. We'll probably do a family trip (parents, sister) trip here in the future, because it's cheaper at $850/night (for 4 br) normally than a hotel. And having gone to Cabo San Lucas yesterday, I'm never going there again.

Hey. I did three.fucking.hours. on the bike trainer this morning. It's 50 degrees and raining, and HEY LOOK, rain the forecast the next five days!

I did watch two new-to-me movies while pedaling. Bullet to the Head was entertaining for what it was and doesn't try to be anything else. The Fast and the Furious was a steaming heap of shit.

Just got to DIA. My FTS just hit 12 again. Some changes are going to be made regarding Stoney house budget...

Told Wifey a few of my long-term thoughts regarding my "I'm done with this shit" plans already and she didn't challenge the ideas.

Do expand.

Wife and I did a quick road loop so I could finally try my new road bike, 35 miles, 3550ft vert.

Already trying to decide where to MTB tomorrow.

Rode some new trails that a local club built on public land. Two of them should have disclaimer that trials skills are required. Lots and lots if off camber rocks, moar rocks, loam, steep stuff and stoooopid ledge hop climb things. It was humbling, but super fun.

This was a fun super steep rock roll thing.

Found some of this mysterious goop like material sitting on the ground. Maybe @jackalope knows what it is???

Frameset and groupo bought on clearance, everything else bought cheap. Had just been waiting for a nice day to take it out. Old road bike is 11+ years old, so wife said I could get a new one.

I have talked about the 55, 60, 65 before. We will be taking ownership of Wifey's mom's condos when she dies; she's 70 now. 20 years out, will put Hannah at 22 - last year of college, MIL will likely have passed leaving two condos - one in CO, and we will both be ~58/59.

We talked about looking at the long term of selling the house here and moving to the CO condo. It's a huge change, but the ability to walk away 5-7+yrs earlier is incentive. With a 2.5% appreciation rate, which is solely inflation, our current house would be around $1mm. Liquidation of that, would/could* leave enough capital (after remaining mtge) to acquire a couple bedroom condo/house in most of Mexico/Costa Rica/etc and leave capital.

Front-end I need to run numbers, but my goal would be to increase savings by an additional 10%. That's the really big change and will require budget manipulation. Mint and I will be spending time over the next week to see where space can be made and how budgets can be adjusted.

Looks like some fancy bio-chemsitry

But despite your best Saruman imitation, I did slip in a ride today as the weekly deluge has somehow held off. More trail critters -

Also saw the first crayfish of year, but damn, they're bloody hard to catch for selfie purposes.

Had an, umm, *great* time with the wife this morning, and collected wild flowers, cleaned out her car and made her favorite chocolate cake for moms day. Hung out with the fam for movie night and brats, so it was a winner day.

Still in fucking Canada.

My usually squirrely co-worker has gone completely off the rails. Has had several melt downs the past few days in some very not normal and unhealthy ways. I can only think he is either in withdrawal from something or has a fairly serious mental issue. I am genuinely concerned about his health. Really fun when you get to spend 14 hours a day with someone like that.

Sending him home early, hopefully he gets his head screwed back on right.

Good day today, swept out the chicken coop and found lots of eggs. Trenched between house and garage in preparation of a project. Took the family on a walk in the woods. Dog found an elk leg. Lots of winning.
