I held a puppy for a few minutes at work (puppy day, puppies in little pens outside one of the buildings expressly to pet and hold). That was good. Also good was chatting with a surgeon friend. Then, once back actually working, a nurse came around pushing a cart with bags of popcorn, free for the taking as it's health care providers week or some such shit. That was also good: Open Road Snacks Fully Loaded popcorn is quite tasty.

Goddamnit, I’m pissed. They are going to chip-seal the entire Grand Teton National Park road system. It was SUCH good pavement...guess I’ll have to use the gravel bike from now on.

There is some amusement to be had when listening to somebody talk about how "everybody else is doing it wrong", "my way of investing is the best way", and "nothing you provide for is beneficial because of the cost". Then actually being able to run risk analysis on their portfolio and identifying that their returns are below general market, while carrying over a standard deviation of higher risk than the general market as a baseline.

Well I got instant bad karma today. My previous bike i had one flat in almost five years. First ride on the new bike today and i had to shit. But i just cleaned out the camelbak and didnt repack toilet paper. Couldnt find anything and thought hey maybe this old innertube will work. So i cut it up and well it sorta worked and i buried the pieces. I felt bad about it but i like my socks. Then not two minutes later i spot a porta potty and its brand new and unused. So im riding along and i get a flat on my first ride? Yep but couldnt see why i had no air. Pumped it up and found it was coming out of the weep hole on the carbon rim. WTF. so my new bike has the NUTS system and I had to use it. That went well but then the tube is going low because the valve is leaking. It wont seal. But i made it and i deserved this for littering shit rubber. Im gunna go dig em up.

Nice ride. What's the build spec?

Also, cut a tiny piece off your inner tube (1/2" x 1/2" tops), poke a hole in the center of it, and shove the valve stem through it before installing it in the rim. Makes a better seal and won't leak air. Sometimes you need 2 pieces to fully seal

I don't remember having any hot nurses. There was a PT gal in ICU however that was amazingly attractive. Or I might have just been up to my eyeballs in drugs, I dunno. Very strange time in my life.
where my brother had his hernia surgery done in boulder....it was heaven.

Going to the local bike swap this weekend. Fingers crossed there will be an inexpensive 29'er hardtail I can grab.
