Morning Monkeys.

All the FTE's are out of office today and I have no idea why. But I will take it, as I won't have to deal with people and I can hide for 8 hours. Yay.

Crap is packed for ride night with the dudes.

But, I might be bailing on them two weeks in a row. Today is the day that the bike shop told the lady friend that her new Santa Cruz should be ready. We'll see if they actually come through. I packed my bike stuff for a reason....

Good Morning!!

My 16yr old border collie mix is near the end of his journey. I've called a few in-home euthanasia services to check on how that goes down....there's no way I could bring myself to take him into a clinic and know that he felt as comfortable as he could be as opposed to home.

Holy hell, I almost forgot the damn funniest thing all week.

So the man child has been home 2 years last March and at the start of the year we said July 1st was the hard date to GTFO. So the wife has been a mess for like 2 weeks because she knows he hasn't found a place, has no savings to move with and no plan for Lil Man. I made it clear over the weekend that 7/1 was not changing, if that means the locks are changed 7/1 @ 5:00 PM, sob it.

Yesterday he gets an email "Are you still looking for a place? I am a casting director for a new show..." I tell him how House Hunters works (you have a house, find 2 others and pretend to be looking) and this is the exact same thing! He has applied and filming runs 7/3-7/6.

He just has to have a place and 2 others. The wife and I had jokes. "Failure to launch, the series"?

If picked, it's a paid gig. But we agreed they will cast his parents. I will not be filmed. We will see if he gets picked.

Mornin!

I suppose a 32 year streak of never having a knife pulled on you is pretty decent but alas, mine has now come to an end.

Was throwing garbage away last night at the highway rest area when I see this woman race into a pickup truck. Guy starts trying to open the door and tells that if she doesn't open up he'll beat the fuck out of her. Other guy approaches me and says he's been hitting her and wonders if it's time to intervene. I said yep, so we approach and tell em to knock it off. Woman hops out and says dont call the cops, it was my fault. Undeterred, my new friend says he doesn't care, lay a finger on her again and there will be trouble. At this point, woman jumps out and says well then you'll have to fight us both, while dude whips out a Bowie knife. My will to intervene vanishes, partly because I have little desire to get into a knife fight, and partially because, at that moment, I realize they are perfect for each other. So with that, I went on my merry way unstabbed, and they split before anything else could happen.

As a wise man once said, nobody wins a knife fight, they just bleed out last.

Here. Sitting in Nebraska as my first two meetings are a cancel and no show. Driving from Omaha to York every river or creek was overflowed. The Platte, which is a tiny river in CO, is fucking massive here. This state will not survive the flooding if our mountains melt fast... Also speed traps fucking everywhere.

:stupid:

Not sure if they are just looking for millennials, or guys who moved back home and are "relaunching". With the shitshow that is Portland real estate, it could be interesting. His story, maybe not so much.
Maybe he needs to launch a media company. May I suggest the name Prestige Worldwide?

My last meeting just ran over by 10 fucking min. Now there is no time for me to go into town to get lunch. Babybels and cheese chips until 3:30 it is. Good thing I had 5 sausage patties and 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast. That will hold me over. Fucking old people. My Outlook alert popped up bold LUNCH and they kept on talking.
