So far, this bike is great. Even with the sub-par components it came with ( Fuzz 2 )
I recently swapped the Kage R for a Vivid Air and I am loving it.

I want to get a clutch derailleur but the component list is confusing me.
--------
Rear Derailleur
SRAM X7 short cage 10 speed
Cassette/Rear Cogs
SRAM PG-1020, modified to 8-speed, 11-28
Shifters
SRAM X5 trigger
--------
Am I confusing myself or do I just have to buy a short cage Sram 10 speed
The 8 speed cassette is throwing me off

And another question, for those who have ridden the fuzz, how important is the rear shock fender?
sample pic:

I wouldn't really care if i was running a coil, but the air can getting possibly pinged by rocks?

I’ve never used the fender on mine. Mud build up has never been an issue. But I’ve always had a coil, so not sure about the air shock getting dinged. My shock has to dings on it or the coil.

Another question

The Fuzz headset was getting very creaky at the bike parks... It seems that their integrated headset consists of just 2 bearings and 2 cups. I noticed that my top cup was rotated a couple of degrees to the right. Would this cause the creaking? My gut says yes, but I need The Monkey to grace me with their knowledge. FYI The two sealed bearings (for the top cup, and bottom cup) seem to "roll" fine, clean, no rust or dirt.

I'm not sure about the headset issue, but maybe you should sell it and see if you can find a nice, used DHR?

Srsly, I like that bike! Especially since it apparently fits you a lot better. As for the headset, first it sounds like the "integrated headset" is just like any other headset (i.e. 2 cups, 2 bearings - which is obviously better than 1 cup and 2 bearings...that's just dirty). Second, when you say the cup was "rotated", are you saying its not quite flush in the head tube, or that it just twisted a bit in the head tube? Needless to say if its the former, thats no bueno, but if its the latter, I can't see how that would matter much - unless its not tight in the head tube and kind of freely spinning there, which is also no bueno I would think. Maybe just give the bearings some light grease and see if it helps, and failing that, I suppose you could press the cups out and re-install with some grease? Or just buy earplugs so you can't hear the creaking.

You clearly negated the option that he could shim it now.

Find me a fresh XL DHR and maaayybbeee <3

"rotated" as in rotated around the Z axis, There are small knotches on the outside diameter of the headset that are not lined up perfectly

So this is a suspension question.. What rear shock is good for the fuzz?
At first I swapped out the RS Kage coil for a RS Vivid Air RC2 and I really liked the air suspension because it made setup so simple, but I feel like it lacked sensitivity.

Not sure if this is accurate, but Google spit this out

Well, looking at the LR it's pretty progressive, which means an air shock is going to get pretty damn harsh deep in the travel, especially on repetitive stuff. It's also going to lack sensitivity (with an air shock) because it's progressive right off the bat. It doesn't look like it's designed for an air shock (despite whatever they may spec on it. The solution is simple, use a coil.

did the vivid airs come with a large negative spring? I didn't think they did, which is going to make it pretty harsh off the top. I'm with JM, get a cheap but good coil and twiddle your knobs
