Flying @Pesqueeb's airline today. The fucking seats don't recline and they are thinner than the damn bus. Please explain to me how SW can still be profitable with thicker seats and less passengers/plane? Profit margins, that's how.

Provide good product and the client base keeps returning. Also passengers were a bit... different. Not sure if they are trashier because we were going to Jacksonville or what, but the client base is uh... There's definitely a few methies, much younger, much older, and very confused about the boarding process (infrequent fliers?).

Off to the funeral today. Not looking forward to the weekend.

Bailed a quarter mile into my run this morning due to a calf injury. It's been hurting for two weeks and I've been pushing through, but it's become too painful to run on without a severe limp, which could lead to other injuries if I keep it up. So, no more running until feels better. The good news is that biking feels just fine, so I'll just stick to that for now.

Did some paddle boarding yesterday. Christ Almighty, does my cripple shoulder hurt. 4 noses brewery after that. Maybe my favorite CO brewery right now.

Yep.

Heading to central Colorado for a beer and music festival, gonna get some riding in too. Big meeting on Sunday with the race car team, time to make some decisions about the 2019 Baja 1000.

Great ride last night. On my favourite trail. It's getting eroded to shit, and flow is hard to find, but that's what makes it rewarding in my books. Didn't break any speed records, but rode clean, and scoped a couple of new lines. Finished with a beer and a swim. Was hoping to see some water nymphs paddle in on their SUP, but no such luck. Just some bro-dudes with tribal tatoos. It dawned on me that SUP is to watersports what vaping is to smoking.

I tried out riding without a pack. I have a bottle cage with a side-clip for my pump, and have owned some Specialized bibs with pockets on the back for a couple of years now, but had never used them. I stuffed an extra 0.5L collapsible bottle in my back pocket along with a multi-tool and my Wolftooth tire-lever/quick-link pliers/quick-link holder in the other pockets. I started with about 1.2L of water, and finished with 1/2 a bottle to spare. It was humid AF out, so it was nice to ride packless. 7/10 will ride this way again. I think I will ask for a One-Up EDC tool for my birthday.

On the drive home there was a lightning storm that lit up the sky for a solid 5 minutes. Freaking amazing.

100% get an EDC. i was going to suggest this until reading you want one. check your fork steerer ID first, not all forks are compatible, but a lot of the common ones are.

I found the lever by accident. Under the seat, the button like every other plane seat ever.

Or you could get the uber expensive EDC stem.

It's funny with the google map locator (aka the stalker app), I can see where my wife is right now, and while I am at work, she is, at this very moment, in the middle of the woods in Kingdom Trails. Specifically, for those of you familiar with the area, she is in the White School area. Or at least her phone is.

The stem is only $112, which isn't too bad. But then you have to buy the $40 top cap, which sets it high. But then on the other hand, without using their stem you will probably have to buy the steer tube tap which is more than the $40 top cap.

the big shortcoming with that as far as i can tell is that you're not able to run any headset spacers; the top cap / stem / upper crown/bearing piece all have to be flush mount.
You can definitely put spacers under the stem like normal. They have pictures of it being done this way on the press release on PB.

https://www.pinkbike.com/news/oneup-announces-new-carbon-bars-edc-ready-stem-and-lock-on-grips.html

The top cap comes with spacers too, so you don't have to run the stem at the top of your steer tube.

Seems pretty sweet to me. Though I almost always wear a hydration pack, so investing in the entire system would be pricey with not much personal benefit.

Phase 2 begins, 6 weeks of this shit. What a pain in my ass.
When people ask you what happened, tell them it was work related. If they persist tell them in great detail about your career as a professional thumb wrestler. And make sure to bitch about health insurance and workman's comp, sponsors, contracts, etc. Make sure they regret asking.

Sitting in Montreal airport. Contemplating rolling the dice and getting some poutine before the flight to Chicago.

ETA: Just received a txt that the Chicago flight was cancelled... that probably isn't good news.
