Gonna be a humid one. Gotta work today but will try and fit a bike ride in this afternoon or will maybe drive down to SC and get some good fireworks for tommorrow. Be safe out there monkeys.

Yeah man, it is humid as hell. I ran an hour at the track this morning and sweated out four pounds. My grumpy leg felt pretty good, so I am happy about that. It was an easy effort...I need to run easy for a while until that leg feels 100%. I also rode 25 fast miles on the tri bike last night (20.2 mph), and am hoping to get out for an easier ride after work today.

beer?

I did another awesome ride last night. took in the new trail again. rode with a buddy who is much faster than I, so it was a cool change of pace. conditions are as good as they get right now. I'm starting to really like riding without a pack. DHR2 front and rear are a pretty sweet combo, I'm starting to get used to all that grip.

Here. Only appointments are in the afternoon, so getting caught up today and trying to get appointments for next week, as I have none - which is bad. Given my office is the basement bedroom, I have been thinking about ways to make better usage of space. I came across this today and sent it to Wifey. She wants me to put in built-in's in the living room and this would actually be really good practice too, as it's more out of the way.

Site was upgraded and I was not invited to the board meeting that discussed it. Must be a technical upgrade because so far I don't see any difference.

Just got word that of my three person team, chaos is about to drop. I've replaced Person #1, which isn't as big of an issue because he was a douche bag, most clients are happy. Person #2 is shifting to a single client, which is a bit shake-up as she's covered her book for 11 years. We split one major client, but I'm still the new guy, so it's shaking the boat and we're going to be adding another new person within 4 months of me. And today I just found out the Person #3 who is also damn near a lifer is retiring. He and I split one really fickle client and then he has most of non-metro CO.

My manager told me a few weeks ago that he wants to build the new CO team around me, but I didn't realize to this extent. I gave him three recommendations for people to hire that would be great fits and that I know I work well with about a week ago. I got calls from all three in the last day that they are interviewing early next week while he's in CO from TX. All want to talk this weekend to prep for the interviews. He called me today to have a 1x1 before those interviews to catch up. I'm not sure about what, because we just talked Friday and nothing in my world has changed, I'm just waiting for school to start for my primary client to be available again (school district).

But fuck me, this is big.

Girlfriend’s dad passed late in the day on Monday, my Grampa passed today. She’s in RI taking care of all those affairs, I’ll be heading back to IN for Grampa’s funeral. Maybe she’ll meet me on her way back to CO? I dunno. It’s been a weird week... at least I’ve managed to keep the doggos alive while she’s been gone.

Ugh, that’s a rough tour.
Nice to have someone at times like that.
