Adding self & fam to presumptive list. No testing available for normies tho. Symptoms are really, really mild but flu tests came back negative, so we're just riding it out with Marvel movies and sluggish living.

Humidifier was a huge upside to my life over the last few days.

In hell. Welcome!
Viral load mattering is definitely plausible. Haven't seen any actual evidence as of yet on that. I have no idea if the migration idea is plausible or not but I'm skeptical just on principle.
There's one case in CZ - a cab driver who was likely exposed to multiple sick people, in his 50s, on artificial lungs for a while and near death. They now see some evidence that prolonged exposure is what causes the most severe cases.
Positive news - because of his hopeless condition, they used him as a test subject for Remdesivir, and he is now recovering quickly. May still need lungs transplant, like other bad cases. :(
On a conference call right now - presenter has a persistent dry cough.
:panic: :panic:
I hope you used protection, boomer! :D

What does that mean? This isn't radiation, shit grows inside you.

It makes sense considering there is a natural antibody and recovery response. Heavier exposure is going to overload, and at a certain point overwhelm that natural system. Your body can react to one virus body better than it can a million. Same with influenza.

Makes sense, I just didn't realize there was a lot of variation in a 'dose'. I was always thinking about someone rubbing their nose after touching a doorknob and not receiving open mouth to mouth coughing. I generally maintain 6' of personal space no matter what. It certainly makes sense for people who receive multiple exposures.

Just popped in to let you guys know I have Covid-19 (Genuinely)

Anyone want to paraphrase the entire thread into a couple of lines for me to get me up to speed?

1. That sucks.
2. What symptoms do you have?
Thanks dude.

At the moment. A little Weak and achy, dry, Tight, uncomfortable chest, reduced lung function (out of breath easier) warm throat, head and cold chest. Comes and goes in waves. A wee bit spaced out (nothing too new for me on a Friday night I suppose, eh? ) sweats. Have had a very odd smell. Sort of chemically but difficult to describe. But I've just started sniffing a little but no runny nose. and now my sense of smeel is gone and everything tastes like cardboard. No real appetite.. and for me that's pretty fucked. a lot of what's happening is following a similar patern and symptoms to my GF and a mate nearby who also has it . ATM I only occasionally cough but when I do it's completely dry.

Breathing wise it sort of feels like I'm putting out a moderately steady climbing effort, you know? where you'd be able to chat with your mates but you'd struggle to continue sentence after sentence without feeling the need for more breath. Except that it's when your sat/laid up doing absolutely nothing physical. Sort of feels like someone's stolen my oxygen. I've also felt really spaced out a few times. felt a little like you would after a 1/4 tab of acid if I'm honest, got incoherent and giggly at one point trying to describe a thermometer to a mate over the phone. I was asking him to get me one and ;leave it outside my house, mine's broken and couldn't remember what they were called, then when I did i couldn't pronounce it. I know, I know... none of you lot'd be able to understand me even if I could.

Here (UK) we have an App to self report our symptoms daily as they change/improve/worsen

Help slow the spread of #COVID19 and identify at risk cases sooner by self-reporting your symptoms daily, even if you feel well . Download the app https://covid.joinzoe.com/

I do live alone bru
No foolin: Make a plan with a neighbor right now who's comfortable with helping you out. It's early and it probably won't be needed but you need to have something in place in case you start getting blackout levels of respitory distress. Depending on how your body reacts, there are people dropping dead from this shit because they don't get help.

You know what an oxymeter is? That little thing they put on your index finger that measures your oxygen saturation in your blood? Get one, right now. They're about 40 freedom bucks here in the states so are probably similar there. We call them drug stores or pharmacies here but you have an equivalent. Buy one.

You should normally be hanging out in the mid to high 90s. If you start consistently reading below 93-92%, your lungs are compromised and you're starting the potential for organ failure. Then you call in the neighbor plan to get your wheezing ass to the hospital.

I'm not joking about any of this. In all likelihood you won't get to that point. But hash it out in case you do.

I was sick as fuck last week and we can't get tested here unless we're on death's doorstep. I did all of the above.

I'm ill. Not lost my normal sense of humour (Genuinely)

Oddly the farmer (I live on a farm) did just move his sheep into the field next to my house, Think he saw me at the window in my dressing gown sweating?

I'm with @kidwoo here. I was diagnosed yesterday but have had it a week. They still won't test me, but your wall of text up there is about a 95% description of what I'm dealing with. I've been sent home with antibiotics for pneumonia, so that if I do have any lung issues they'll be just covid related, and an inhaler with the instructions that if I get any worse go straight to the ER. And mine is moderate; I only wanted to die for one day at the beginning.

Given you live alone and on a farm, you need to get an O2 sensor. The rate that you can go from fine to critical is hours and if you're solo, you might be sol if you're not thinking straight.

Word. I don't mean to freak you out, you'll probably be fine. But a 30 pound purchase and a 15 minute conversation are easy to do at this point and get you covered in the next few days.

Now go the fuck to sleep. The only times I've been up at 3am the last few years are due to an annoying prostate or lots of MDMA.
