Yeah, I was honestly startled by how much faster the wetsuit was. I set faster 100m times than I did in the pool. I was in a pretty gucci 2xU wetsuit with like compression panels and zigzaggy armflaps but still... AND I was able to get out of it in a very short period of time, so there wasn't much penalty there.

Anyways, the xterras are coming in at like $50 used and $140 brand new, so it might be worth getting so I don't have to think about it.
2XU is all about the compression stuff! I have like four pairs of their compression tights for winter running. Anyway, $140 for a new Xterra wetsuit is a good purchase for a noob triathlete. Xterra likes to be cute and run these "80% off OMG!" sales to make you think you are getting a deal, but nobody has ever paid full price for an Xterra suit.

If you want to do more racing, it might be worth it to join your local triathlon club. They usually get you discounts. My club gets me 30% off Roka. No shortage of clubs in your neck of the woods. Race discounts alone pay for my membership.

BTW, start looking at the Patriot Half next year for your first 70.3. It's an awesome race.

Going on an apple hunt today... hopefully I can locate Jazz or Cosmic Crisp in their natural habitat.

In other news, my 38t, oval, 104bcd, gold chainring arrived from its birthplace in Poland. Thank you Poland for producing such a product and shipping it to me in a timely fashion.

I've got to do a 100 mile "foot on the gas" ride this weekend on my tri bike. So my choices are ride tomorrow where it will likely rain maybe a quarter inch, or ride on sunny Sunday as the winds from the Ira remains roll through (15-20 mph with 30 mph gusts). I am thinking I'd rather deal with the rain than the wind. Rain will be an annoying nuisance, but wind can break one's spirit.

In the bathroom, fighting a battle
The word of the day is fuckyouyoufuckingfuckpeiceoffuckfulloffuckshitheadfuck

This can be used to describe most of my co-workers, the Harley bro who trying to commit suicide on the freeway, Sunrun, and whoever bought the last Blackstone from my local Lowes.

I'm other news, Garmin tells me that the kiddo and I have ridden a total of 114 minutes so far this week after dinner. Pretty stoked seeing as how up until last weekend he had precisely zero interest in riding bikes.

Here. Taking back half of the day off. Have had a bunch of aura's over the week and I'm thinking the load I've been carrying the last two weeks hasn't helped. So, told boss. Rest of today off, no meetings Monday afternoon, and Thursday/Friday off. Zero fuck's given.

Wifey's work bbq tonight, busy tomorrow, then kart Sunday with Haley.

Was just beginning to contemplate a post work ride. But it's thundering and raining heavily just west of me where the weather comes from...

10 years ago I would have attempted this level of dumb.

Start in Colorado Springs, ride up Pikes Peak, ride north, ride up Mt Evans, 180ish miles, 20000ft of vert, two 14k peaks.

Having jogged across the carpark at the top of Pike’s Peak, I’d say riding up it would be pretty suicidal.

I have no idea where I am
So, confirmed, I broke my toe purty gud. But no permanent damage, so Moab and Mexico are still on, just with a bunch of Tramadol.
Dude…avoid Tramadol if you can. It’s highly addictive and not nearly as effective as weed. I took it for a couple days and had withdrawal symptoms when I stopped because it didn’t do anything for pain. Had to cut the tabs in half, start taking it again and ween myself off of it. Fuck that, pass the bong…

Ah, I bought 100 in Mexico last Spring, I still have 50. They feel like advil to me, I can take them. Or leave them.
But I feel the same about Oxy. Fun, but I generally just don’t get addicted.

Pretty sure Tramadol is the weakest opioid pain killer available and is pretty much the same stuff you can get over the counter in Canada. It can be addictive but the least risky addictive option available.
