Most of us ride 250s or better, but there are some exceptions. One thing to consider when looking for a bike (if you haven't gotten on yet) is that the trails around here are VERY ROCKY. A dual sport is going to feel heavy and be hard to maneuver. A 125 will be much lighter and maneuverable, but you tend to ride pretty slow in the woods, so you may miss the low end power. You will have to shift more and be able to keep the rpms high.
I don't know what you budget is, but you can find a nice bike between 1500 and 2k. You can get a lot for your money around here, because there is few places to ride and few people that do ride bikes tend to be in good condition and end up selling under value. -
