  • Hey Dave,
I had a question about one of your systems. Can you send me a mail at ben dot walker at scott-sports dot com please?
Thanks and have a good one.
    Ben Walker
I'm trying to get a new F7 link made for my sunday, and I read in the Sunday thread here that you still have all the models and prints. Is there anyway I could get all the measurements on the linkage plates so that I could get them CNC'd? Or even better if you had an F7 link laying around, I'd take that off your hands! :D You can shoot me a PM or email me at DrSouce169@gmail.come whenever it's convenient for you. Thanks.

PS. After getting some serious time down on the sunday the past few years I just gotta say "WOW!" I can see what all the hype is about. Seriously the best riding bike I've ever taken down a mountain.
    Dave,
sorry from my English,(i'm from Poland)
I'would like chnge bearning in my Iron Horse MKIII(2007)
if i don't use bearing with MAX-E what it's happen?(frame broken,it is imposibleto put it frame)

    Hello Dave
I was searching and searchong over the whole internet but coudn't find an answer for my question and i'm sure you coud give me the right answer.
    Can i use the 7point 06 lower lower link on a 05 7point frame?
If not where can i find a 05 lower link.
I'll really really appreciate it if you take 1 minute of your precious time to answer :)
thanks in advance and have a good day
    Cheers,
    Martin
    Hey dw,
Could you contact me regarding Eurobike 2011 and a potential interview. I only had your previous e*13 e-mail address. Either PM me here or e-mail me on ian (at) duncanmcintosh.co.uk .
    With respect,
    Ian McIntosh
    Hey Dave,
I just saw the BH Lynx article on Bike Radar. Looks great! Really digging the Devinci Dixon and Wilson.
    Cheers,
    Mark
    DW,

I've been approached about reproducing some linkage for Sundays. The customer said he had already ok'd it with you, but I wanted to speak with you myself. If you could PM me to discuss this further I would greatly appreciate it.
    Dave:

I have an IH MKIII and LOVE IT. I just don't like the rear 5th element air shock and REALLY want to put a coil shock on the bike. Can you recommend a coil shock for the bike? Also; what spring can you recommend as I weight 150#. Anything to point me in the direction is much appreciated!
    Hey there,
I'm considering going for a RC4 for my sunday and I've been searching the forums and I see you aswell as a few others have used this setup with good results.
I see you took the shock directly off a revolt. Does the revolt have a similar leverage ratio to the Ironhorse? I have the chance to buy a 2010 one from an orange 224 for a great price but I'm not too sure if it will work as great as the sunday/rc4 setups i've read about on here due to the orange's leverage ratio being different. Would I have to send it off to fox to get it tuned/revalved?
I know the sunday isn't in production anymore and that you are working on much newer, bigger, more important etc projects, but if you could take a minute or two to help me out here I'd massively appreciate it.
    Cheers,
    Rich
    Dave,

Hoping to get in touch with you to discuss some (very elementary) engineering questions. tkncwa@gmail.com or 336.880.8080.

    Respectfully,
    Taylor
    Hey Dave,

Just saw your post on vital, and wanted to touch base. You've always been a big supporter of the Hookit.com program (Formerly SponsorHouse & Loop'd), and I wanted to see if there was an angle on working together on any of your new projects? I didn't have your personal email, so sorry for the informal Ridemonkey blast! haha. But, my info is rich@hookit.com / 858-875-6521

    Thanks Dave,

    Rich
Hey Dave, sorry to bother you, but I would like to get in touch. Please email me if you feel so inclined. atmckee86gmail.com Thanks!
Have you posted anything about what shim stack to use for a seven point with a vivid shock? Im already using the rockshox A tune. Is there a better tune that you've used?
The supercharguer saved my life, now is ready to be tacoed, i need the plastics fot the upper and lowwer pullleys
Dave, you wouldnt have a PDF copy of, or be able to tell me the font you used for the word "Sovereign" in the Reynolds tubed frames would you? Having a one done up and want to make it as original as possible. Hope you can help, sorry to bother you if not. Cheers. JC
Hello Dave! Sorry for bothering, but I have an issue regarding dw-link that probably can't be reslolved in my country.

I have IH Sunday Expert frame '08 which has been supplied in stock with Roco R shock. Now I bought a new one Fox DHX 5, but after reading of many posts here I've got some concern about proper DHX work on Sunday DW-Link frame because it's not tuned\revalved in stock specifically for DW-Link frame. Do I really need to do this tune-up? by PushIndustries or any other service.
Other words, will the dw-link suspension work properly if I have stock DHX5 '08 on my Sunday frame '08?

Thank you very much in advance.
    Dave-

Would it be detrimental to shorten the i2i on a shock for a DW-Link bike (E.g. DW Spot + 7.375" i2i shock)? What kind of effects would this have on the suspension characteristics?

    Thanks!
hey i was wondering if you had any idea if it is still possible to get parts for a 08 mkiii frame? thanks
Hey Dave, I heard you used to ride at the Wakefield BMX track with some racer kid from Boston University? :)
Hey SylentK. I've been approached by a few people on this subject, and I think that at least one is working on this. I'd hate to see 10 different people spend time and $$ on this and then be sitting on them. The only way that these parts are going to be even reasonably affordable is if someone makes a good batch of them, 200 pcs + at a bare minimum, and that may end up being the whole lifetime market for the kit really.
    DW,

I am interested in making after-market Sunday (and possibly other DW) linkage kits. I am first asking for permission, and second asking for any technical drawings of the parts. We can certainly work out payment. I am not an arm-chair engineer or someone looking to get rich. I'm just a long time mtb'er with an MBA who is out of work and want to try to do something about all these guys with broken Sundays...which will someday include me.

Not sure if this'll work out, but right now I am doing my due diligence to see how feasible this is/isn't going to be.

    Thanks for your time!
Parts of it. Any specific chapter your referencing here? I certainly understand the basics of the system (I've got my equations of motion down) and I could preform ride analysis with step bump inputs or pitch analysis via the moment caused by acceleration but I don't quite know how to incorporate anti-effects other than to use one of my separate programs to calculate percent anti values based on suspension position. I can have that value input into the dynamic analysis and use it to find the counteracting force or moment but I figured their should have been a better way (read more accurate as well).

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I have to say you and Steve have been the most helpful and knowledgeable folks on this forum. I've learned a lot about dynamics and bicycle suspension just from reading your discussions. Thanks
i have been informed on how to fix my issue, i appreciate you replying though. i didnt know what to do. thanks again
Hey DW i know ure very busy but had 1 question for you. First let me tell u i bought a 2009 (well rs cycle said it was 09 but its def. an 08) yakuza kumicho. Love the way it ride it very good at speeds. anyway i just bought a 05 sunday i found on here for pretty cheap. the dw compared to the yakuza is really and truly unbelievable cant even comprehend how i can pedal the sunday the way it pedals sorry but im very impressed. anyway heres the question on the yakuza it says reward pivot system and on the bike it says centralized pivot system is that an IH mess up and can u explain to me how well the actuall pivot placement on the yakuza benefits over other sungle pivot designs thanks DW for your time and when u have some and arent busy please respond gonna be at the open this year??? oh 1 more thing since i got the new sunday do u know of anywhere i can get the f7 links from????
Hey BMX guy. I don't really totally understand your issue, and I'm not sure that I can help you. Here is a suggestion, it may sound crude, but it's my best idea for you. It sounds like you need to loosen your pivot, and maybe file it down a little so that you can tighten it completely. Sorry, I don't have any real fix for you. The QC from Iron Horse was never the best, so it's hard to pinpoint issues here and there. Take it apart and figure it out! You can do it man!
I know you are porbably sick of hearing crap like this, but i need an issue fixed now! Where the dw-link connects with the swingarm of the sunday, i have developed play. I am under the impression that is the bolt that goes though it. I cant get it out. does it tap out? the bolts on the end both tighten to the right and now it just spins in the bearing. Also are there bearing or bushing in the link itself? I am ready to throw it all in the dumpster. I know its a petty request, but please help me. I have racing in less than a month. I dont know what to do. No one seems to want to help me. I appreciate your time. Thanks

    Devin R.
    DW,

I've been reading your posts for a number of years now both here and on mtbr on occasion and I have a question for you. I'm looking at developing my own simple 4DOF dynamic ride model incorporating pitch and was curious how I might integrate anti effects on tractive forces.

I've got the basic equations of motion with values for tire damping, wheelrate, etc. but I cannot figure out how to input longitudinal accel in way that it will cause an effect on the suspension system. Any help or enlightenment here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Dave, sorry about my dig on the evil bikes thread...i was just having a lil fun
    Dave,

sorry i didn't respond sooner...your stuff stuff got erased off my phone....and then i forgot about it...so my bad....DH runs....we have 3 flat beds running for the event....you guys are welcome to come out and ride but there is a 10 dollar shuttle fee for non racers to cover insurance.... if you guys want to bring the Turner trailer out we can provide a spot int eh tech area no problem.....you guys are welcome to do demo's out of the trailer as well.

hope to see ya out there.

    Dave,
When I saw your post on my thread about the Sunday going away, I had no idea who you were, a friend later told me, and I was impressed. First let me say thanks for all you have done for the sport of mountain biking. Secondly, I have to ask, where do you get all these ideas? Are you the designer, owner, both of these companies? Do you have a bio page? I hope this does not come off as hero worship, but I enjoy being inspired by people who are successful at what the do. Thanks for your time and input, and good luck in the future.

    hey dave
sucks to hear that your design got stolen
i have an idea that might be able to help you
the way i came across it was kind of funny, it was how i though your suspension design worked but taking a look at the pictures of the new giant i see that it is much different
