Just put a Neutech Tubliss in my vintage Trials bike, work great and not to hard to install, the red inner is like a road bicycle tire with a thin tube inside and the gold plate has a second valve stem that bypasses the small tube. The red inner protects the rim from impacts no matter how low you...

OK,I see,AM bike would be hard on my old body unless I just crept down.I assume there are routes around the big drops? I cannot slam down anymore.
Are your routes marked at intersections? I wouldn't want to have someone stuck with "Grandpa" sitting all the...
Thanks, would definitely trade a bunch of shuttle driving for a couple of DH runs! Bought a better fork for my Kona and I will see how it feels(Rock Shock Sektor on there now is worse than any SSV Marzocchi) I can use mine at least for a slow speed inspection run(All my runs will be slow!)
OK,won't know quite when I will be coming down,my trials buddy is recovering from knee surgery and we don't want him to rush it. I'll keep checking your thread here and if I can make a special trip down before he's ready I may come alone. Is shuttle road 4wd? I'd could drive my Grand Cherokee...
How big of a bike do you need to have good safe fun at the Trials Training center? I'll be down there this coming year with my Trials bikes(2011 Sherco plus several vintage twinshock bikes) and could bring my 2010 Kona Dawg along.I'm a Hoosier so I can't justify a full on DH bike on a lark,I did...
I have put a crap load of air/fuel ratio sensors in Subaru.Fuel trim will be off, lambda will not pass through 1.0,(Front o2 sensor is a Air/fuel ratio sensor)
AFR sensor gets stupid(Biased is the correct term) and efi corrects to the the wrong air/fuel ratio.
After cat o2 sensor never sees...
Timing Chains have gotten very tiny nowadays,I've done several Nissan and Hondas for cam Synch codes this past year,No Subies yet have developed Chain trouble(Most of our customers still on Belt driven Subarus)
Make sure you replace the tensioner too,it'll have a little puddle of oil on...
Yea,don't run a spring w/o any preload, didn't know, must be a fairly stiff spring? Anyway, just have your present shock shortened. I used to run extra sag in my Stinky's to get the geometry good but the spring was soft enough to require plenty of preload even at 40% sag,It was 2004,static head...
Don't spend money on a shock, first I'd just back off preload another 1/4",that would be the same as a 1/4" shorter shock, wouldn't it?
Can't imagine it would negatively affect quality of ride on anything but jumps, and I wouldn't be doing any big jumps on that old a bike anyway...if necessary...
Seems like it'd be awfully close to T.T.C. Why not just work with them to improve what they got? Can't be a bad thing to have more venues but you may be trying to spread available manpower pretty thin...
Before you go to the extreme of surgery one thing to consider is your gloves, back in the mid 90's I raced alot of harescrambles and being a auto mechanic my hands never got a break all week,I had terrible trouble hanging onto the bars and at woods racer speeds it was quite disturbing to actually...
There are quite a few Demoes,Stinkies,Stabs on Pinkbike classifieds,You may have to contact a dozen before finding someone who will actually ship one to you,but should be doable for under $1500. I was wanting to do the same as you and show up at Windrock this weekend but just bought myself a new...
Use Downhill as a motivation to get a good education, try to pick a field where you can work wherever you want to(some careers have to be tied to urban industrial locations, which aren't near mountains)
Be responsible and patient,DH requires good transportation because unless you live at the ski...
Everytime I go on specialized website and compare Pitch Pro to Enduro Comp I end up clicking on Enduro Evo and stop right there...can't consider cheaper models...must save up money...(started by selling my KTM 640 LC4e dualsport)
After seeing what is offered as automotive tires these days I ain't too impressed by tire engineers lately...treads chop up,tire are coarse, noisy POS no matter how much you spend on them(I actually see better wear and comfort on cheap tires than high dollar ones,Michelin being the exception,they...
It's most important to set the suspension for the best performance over the entire length of the course, If you don't use all your travel on some courses so be it. If you have one big jump that requires mega stiff suspension possibly it may be quicker overall to ease up for that one obstacle to...
Those were very competitive around here, have a friend who ran top 3 or 4 every week on one,he actually dropped back when he switched to a Rickman-Zundapp.
I have dropped sixty lbs since january with the intent of picking up a vintage 125 to hammer the guts out of once I finish the Maicos(every...
