Aw man, ive seen that truck on the DR for so long, hope you got what you wanted as for price. What a well done truck! Put some pics up so these guys can see a shuttle truck, sans spares!!
first why do you want to go to coil? For a bit more you can go float. Lighter, more adjustability, similar feel to a coil, theres no reason to go to a van. I have talked many out of doing this and have had a few do it anyways, they end up regretting and then its too late to change it back to...
Have you tried a pressure test? As air is gettig in, under pressure, there sould be oil coming out somewhere. Zip tie your lever to the bar, nice and tight, then look for leaks. Always worth a try. also, you can try leveling out your levers, doing that to both brakes and leaving it...
The main probems associated with the 40's are easily fixed with plain maintenance. The seals pop due to lack of maintenance and air pressure being released pror to riding. (Tell tale psss if you open up the topcap anywhere with elevation.) As the fork compresses, a small amount of oil is...
All floats are adjustable on the spring side, between 150, 140, 120, 90, and 80 with the simple removal and install on a pin and spring top outs cap. Lemme get a float in for a travel adjust and ill do a write up!
I hate to say, but under some instances, torque specs are retarded. I have had a few issues with the main pivots coming loose on hecklers, Blue loctite, and more Torque on the main pivot always works. Torque specs are to keep moose knockle wrenches from destroying parts and blaming the...
look at it this way. In 50 years when winter is just a fond memory, how will resorts keep money coming in? Exactly, so when were all old farts crapping out pants, most people will have a rig in their garage. And racing isnt back to pre 2000's it was massive in the early 90's, and tapered off...
the casting should be lacated on the inside of the fork leg by the dropout of the year it was manufactured. i.e. if it was manufactured in 02 its an 03. id throw a bet in being a 2001 z3.
Yeah Noleen actually started with this technology. The problem, was, it was expensive, and batteries died quickly leaving a dead set up. Cannondale actually did a similar set up with an electronic lock out.
Heres some info...
Heres my question. At what point do you want safety, but are willing to risk it for cool factor and weight. Many people are interested in the leatt brace, however, people are running D2's out there. I cannot understand this. In a crash like that, his savior was his moto lid, no ifs ands or...
what it seems like is your spring is rubbing. take your top cap off, and flip the spring. Try that out. Sometimes, the shrink wrap slips down the spring, and since its not where it should be, the spring rubs away. First flip the spring, and try it out, if it still rubs, youll have to...
happened to me as well. Definately, a part that you loctite while building. Makes life easier on the trail not having to look for the bolt to get home.
I have also found that motorex 5 wt works great. Not to mention, medium ohlins and Race Tech. Im running the motorex currently in my dhf 8.0 and i find it to be a little linear, but finding Race Tech is difficult, which I find to be the best.
Not that expensive here. I had the same thing happen to me, picked a comp cartridge for 80 bucks new Canadian! The 888 cartridges are super sheap unless you upgrade to a newer comp cartridge. A little fix next time guys, heat the sucker up before you try to un-do it.
The one thing about powerful brakes is that you neverknow when its going to hit in completely, they could all of a sudden just grab and throw you off. As Tranny, said, modulation is much better for DH, a controlled amount of power is much more useful than a massive braking system, all it takes...
Intense Intruders. Best allaround tires ive run, they work from the sligtly dry to muddy conditions fairly well and even into the super dusty dry stuff. As it comes to the northeast, that is what I have been running Not the best over flat rocks, however, they are durable, puncture resistant...
Change out your oil in your fork this will help. As oil cools especially in cold weather, it thickens, kinda like molasses. Also, Mineral oil does the same thing. if yore brakes feel like crap, change out to a 2.5 weight oil. Dont forget, the colder the weather, the more brittle metal...
