lucky you. actually i've managed to get my bike box thru as well w/o any extra charges but that was before when i thought there really was an exception for bikes. i would argue with them.... but now i know there is no such exception.

on your M3... use the blue on all the pivot bolts. 4 on the main upper link and 2 on the lower link. they are the ones that usually work themselves out. for the lower link, apply the loctite to the threads on the link and not on the long bolt. make sure to clean the threads w/ alcohol first...
DRS plus mud and dirt: bearings will get contaminated and the roller will get stuck, destroying the rubber roller that much quicker. mud gets in between the fibre-reinforced plastic wearplate and the aluminum plate.... the plastic plate then puts pressure on the roller.... again the roller not...
insert something in there like a screw driver and push down on the crush tube. (same direction as the spoke) that should allow u a small peak of the bearing inner race. that's where u will be hitting it out.
well u might as well get both bushings replaced... and hopefully u didn't damage the stanchion. sometimes the loctite on the bushing is not enough and the bushing starts moving up.
