    best heli-biking in Whistler?

Me and some buddies did the Rainbow Mt. trip last year and although it was a lot of fun there were definitely some draw backs. First off we went way too early in the season (actually it was almost a year to today). Hence the first half of the ripping, alpine singletrack was more of a gong show...

BC interior road trip- must rides?

I think to keep the amount of driving you have to do to a minimum I would stay in the Kamloops and Vernon/Kelowna areas. A bunch of friends and I did a big circuit last year that included Kelowna, Vernon (Silverstar), Kamloops, Pemberton, and Whistler. I highly recommend the trails around...

    Whislter alternative

I didn't like Sun Peaks either when I was there. The trail system was kind of convoluted, the trails were really dusty, and the lift was absolutely crap. I don't know if its always this way but when we were there only 1 out of every 4 chairs would be used for bikes and the lifts were running...

    I think I killed my fox 40...

I had the same thing happen to me at Whistler. I sent the fork into Fox hoping they could fix it for less then the cost of a new cartridge. Fox ended up replacing the whole cartridge cause I guess they're is not a whole lot they can fix on it. If I were you I would just pay to get the new '08...

    Bike build for my wife

I really think a Totem Solo Air would be great for her up front. The Solo air hasn't had too much in the way of problems, its the 2-Step that has all the problems and probably why most people say bad thinks about the Totems. They did have some real issues with seals leaking, but supposedly that...

Bike storage at the Whistler Westin.

See if Whistler is still doing the bike storage thing at the bike and bean. They started it last year and rates weren't to bad, plus I didn't hear about anyone losing their bike that used it.

    Mazda3 Owners ?

The rack is a Yakima rack and is mounted properly, but it seems with my car it doesn't do well with 2 40+ lbs bikes mounted on it. I have the type of rack that holds the bike by the front wheel so the center of gravity is pretty high up and it can put a lot of stress on the rest of the rack...

    Mazda3 Owners ?

I already have a roof rack for the bikes and although it does make the car look cool when its all loaded up, it kills the gas mileage. Plus the rack moves all over the place, scratching the hell out of my roof and door sills.

    Mazda3 Owners ?

Ok I did a search and couldn't find any info but it does look like quite a few of you monkeys are Mazda3 owners. My question is do any of you have hitch mount racks that you're using and if so what kind of hitch do you have? The reason I ask is I can only find a class 1 hitch for the 3 and...

What did we do to piss off mother nature?

Its a freaking La Nina year, of course its going to be colder and wetter then normal. I love how everyone always makes some crack about Al Gore or global warming when its colder then normal. Global warming causes things to be more extreme i.e. colder cold fronts, warmer warm fronts, bigger...

    Demo 7, 8, or 9 for a 140lb girl?

Ok I'm feeling really generous right now and happen to have two bikes that are right up your alley that I would let your wife test ride. The first is an '06 Demo 8 that is built up to about 40 lbs and the other bike is a Intense SS built up to about 35 lbs. i only weigh about 150 with gear so...

    Whistler Jun 2nd or 3rd

Just wondering if anyone is still interested in going up on Monday as I would really like to go and don't want to make it a solo trip, but just might if there's no one else interested. For anyone that's worried about going up with someone they've never ridden with here's my Whistler resume. 30+...

    Whistler Jun 2nd or 3rd

I have this Monday off and would love to make it up there, plus I just picked up my Triple play today. It looks like this year I'm relegated to finding other people to go up there with as all my riding buddies this year are either broken or denied entry into Canada. Anyway shoot me a PM if...

    Advantages/Weight of 12 or 10 mm x 135mm

Hey manhattanprjkt83 don't go through I9 for the axle kit. I emailed them and they said it was going to cost $75 to $80 and that didn't included the axle. I was able to find the conversion kit at competitivecyclist for $50. You still have to buy an axle as the I9 kit only changes the hub to...

    Tubeless Ponderings & Poll

Two years ago I built up some 823's and mounted some 2.5 Kenda Nevegal DH tires with Stan's. They seemed to work great initially, held air great, no pinch flats, no punctures and then I took them to Whistler. Every time I rode up there that year I got little punctures that the Stan's would not...

    Advantages/Weight of 12 or 10 mm x 135mm

Ok well I will chime in here as I am upgrading to a 12mm from my current quick release. I did as much research on this as possible prior to making any decisions and I had kind of the same criteria; low weight, added stiffness. I know just going from a QR to a 10mm thru axle made a huge...

    Silver Star

Most likely there's some stuff that would fit those types of trails, although when we were there we were trying to do more freeride/downhill. There's a pretty big riding community there though and I'm sure they're not all into freeride, so you should be able to find some stuff right up your...
