The slalom race was so delayed (took ~5 hours) that I missed picking up his bike at Magic in Boone. Either way, very cool of both of you to offer.
I'll be back up next spring for more DS/DH racing at Beech.
I'm headed to the Lees-McRae Collegiate race in Banner Elk this weekend and need a light-duty, medium-sized DH bike. Anyone willing to loan theirs?
I earned a silver in Cat 2 DS at Beech Nats last month, so I'm not some hack who will trash your bike. Willing to pay $50 cash for the weekend...
Results are posted this afternoon: http://www.usacycling.org/results/?permit=2011-2901
Not sure why some have points, some don't and why juniors are mixed in with Cat 2 and Cat 3 results.
USAC told me that the Nats DS Qualified Riders list will not be updated until tomorrow afternoon (24hrs...
The USA Cycling rep mentioned at reg before the DS on Sunday that if you qualify on a one day, you'll need to buy an annual license and then have USA Cycling connect your qualifying result to it. Otherwise they don't have a way to link the rider to the result. You also had the option of filling...
These guys seem to offer really low prices on Troy Lee DH helmet closeouts. Their site lists way more inventory than they actually have on-hand, so it's a crapshoot. Too good to be true.
Good luck trying to reach anyone by phone to cancel your order. 25 phone calls, 4 VMs, 5 emails to finally...
Not sure why this just occurred to me, but I question the business sense of releasing slightly updated bikes each year at Interbike. Often the 'new' model is simply a different paint scheme and slightly revised parts mix. Where's the innovation?
Brands like SC, Intense, Yeti and other smaller...
Sound like my wife...LOL :weee:
Thanks everyone. I think the Jackal is the way to go for now. I even tried to price the same exact kit the Jackal comes with for the Yeti, but still several hundred more expensive.
I still find it ironic that the Jackal is billed as a DJ bike, while the DJ...
I'm looking to purchase a new 4X/DS bike for local riding and have narrowed it down to the 2010 models of the Santa Cruz Jackal and Yeti Dirt Jumper. The eventual plan is to ride/race the bike on a local DS course and BMX tracks. It's unlikely I'll get back into true DS/4X racing.
The...

I'm looking at either the 08 ETSX or the 08/09 Element. Standover height is 31.2in for the 16.5" frame, which seems odd to me. Their 18" is almost 32.5".
My inseam (no shoes) is 30.5.
I've had a medium FSR-XC, 18" Stumpjumper, Medium San Andreas, so 16.5" seems like a micro-bike...
Anyone find it odd that two 'different' members posted the same exact ad and photo?
Seems fishy to me.
