Grab a Canadian made bike and support Canadian innovation best bet is a 6X6 bike anything larger really is over kill for the shore bud....or better yet learn to ride a long throw Hardtail.
I had a 2005 XC comp I loved riding it until the top tube cracked,I think the only 2 reasons it cracked is number 1 I weigh 235 ans 2 because I ride North Shore XCountry and that invovles a little more air than this bike can take, but as a bike it handled well and smoothed out the trails well...
I have Magura's ,Avids and Hopes if I had To start again I would have only Hopes on my bikes they are with out a doubt the top preforming brakes in all conditions about the only brake I would never buy again are Hayes every pair I've tried are absolute crap when compared to any thing else at...
There are only three top of the line hubs they are;Chris King,DT Swiss and Hope , the rest are at best also rans hadley are shoddy and over priced for what they are.I run Chris Kings on my free ride bike and DT Swiss on my XC bike and have never had a problem ,quick sure engagement every time...

I have a XC comp and have tried the Foxes ,F-100 and Talas
then I bought a 2004 Minute 2 the perfect fork for this bike.If you buy a 2006 Minute make sure too get a Minute 3 because with this bike you want 100mm of travel not 130mm the 130mm fork makes the bike handle all wrong
Slag fox rather than Manitou,L own three Fox Forks an F100RLT ,Talas RLC and a FloatTriad all three are at fox for the second time this year the F100 with less than 100KM on it.On the other hand my Minute and Flick just keep on bouncing the minute has over 2000km with one servicing and the flick...
