Bumping this thread!
How did it turn out for you? Did you modify your frame or buy a new one?
I'm in the same boat now, my quake needs some mods to make it work with hammerschmidt. First i thought welding, but there is risk for metal fatigue blabla. Then maybe some splines or threads on a iscg...
Mmm I really enjoy it... The sovereign and the Ransom are the first bikes I´ve had that I feel totally at home on.
Just picture som fast bumpy singletrack with that Ransom :P Can´t stop smiling when riding :)
I rode my Imperial with a Sherman breakout + (170mm). Worked just fine.. Not a great head angle for street, but sweet for faster stuff.
If you want to go with manitou I would recomend an older breakout with TPC+ and 150mm for it though, the SPV often breaks down. Or perhaps a firefly+
If I...
The post is just right, the shock and post move downwards together so it can be lowered even further. Nice to be able to use the post for epic rides as well.
So far the shock feels great. Just found my ideal pressure, so I´ve got some riding to do before I can give a good answer.
Thx!
"High seat because I use it to get to work, so don´t bother flaming it because of that please."
The post goes up and down a lot since it´s an allround build.
I consider myself to be a component snob, and that´s why I use both saint and hone. Not on the same bike mind you.
Hmm that sounded quite like a cheesy comercial, sry bout that :)
how tall are you?
5.9
what size do you have (reg or long)?
regular
what do you use it for (urban, dj, trails)?
everything, mostly light street stuff and trail
Feels superb for everything. I use a 50mm stem an a pretty wide bar. When the saddle is pushed up to trail height it does...
Very nice indeed, but I do have a question. Whats your riding style? Why those heavy wheels and cranks? Don´t now how strong that frame is, but wouldn´t a pair of... Rhyno Lite XL´s and a pair of all mountain cranks be better suited and make for a snappier ride without sacrificing...
You assume correct it has been sacrificed.
It is now chopped up into tiny bits and slowly ground into a fine powder to fertilize my crops of evildoing senior sitizens and poodles.
But seriously; I´m gonna keep building on this frame untill it feels just right. The frame and fork combo...

And it´s that time of year again, so here´s a update on what I´ve done with my little friend:
New tyres, fork and so on. Specs are on the first page.
This is the current setup with a temporary fork untill I find the one I´m looking for. Those new dual air Pike forks seems to be really good value/performance.
