The secret to looking good while doing tricks is to relax. Force yourself to be more central and straight up on the bike. Don't racer(tuck) the jumps. Practice the x-ups while doing wheelies or manualing. That will give you more of an idea of what they should feel like.
As for the table...
How much u wanna spend?

hard to find complete chromoly racing bikes these days......
You gonna ride street much? If not aluminum will be fine.
Hmmmmmmmm........That's funny.....I've never seen a track get closed cause of this! That Sucks! Where do you live? Not to mention all the skateparks that you must sign this same waiver in and they don't ever have a problem w/ waivers in court. In fact I think their waivers even say not to ride...
It's private property and a waiver will hold up in court. Have a lawyer write it up and be sure it includes something to the tune of "owner will not be responsible in any, way, shape or form for any injury(s), death or equipment failure while riding on property etc., etc. My policy is to only...
Yeah......Be sure to ride before you buy!
http://specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=9370 $500...typical specialized. Bad ass bike though.
Try a track for the mini.
Ummmm......He's 34yrs. young and 6'2". I would think a 20.5"tt is a little small for him and I believe he said he wanted a 24" too.............good lookin out though homey!
Look for a crusier w/ at least a 22" top tube for you. For him, if he's average height about any mini should fit if he's short you should just have to turn the neck around backwards so the reach is shorter. Look for a used bike at your local track. You can get one w/ really good parts for...
Buy a complete and upgrade! Most come w/ top of the line parts now. FMF's are nice. 1.5lbs is not gonna make that much of a diff. Just find some you're comfy on. Don't sweat stuff like weight until you're getting really quick. Skill first then equipment. Who knows? Buy time you get ready...
Clips not neccessary til u get faster and very controlled.
If your tire folds use more pressure. Arrows are bad ass tires for BMX and mtnx.
Your chainguide/box guide should be good, check the alignment. I would suggest singlespeed for bmx. If you're gonna keep the derail. go w/ a SRAM X9...
I think it's pretty simple. All moutain= climb to the top w/out killing yourself too bad. And the ability to decend at a moderatly fast pace and the ability to do jumps, good sized hucks, and stunts. Freeride= I want the biggest steepest decent you have, with the biggest drop, most huge...
Like I said it's a loaded quest. there's no such thing as the perf. frame or bike. That's why sponsored riders bikes are so tailored to them. A lot of times the frames are even custom. No riding in a parking lot doesn't test what you can put a bike through but it does test the size and fit...
