This happened to me years ago on a Rocky RM7 bearing, where the linkage attached to the frame. I smoothed out the divot (don't take too much off) with some fine-grit sandpaper and used Loctite 680 (retaining compound) as mentioned above. It held fine. That stuff is pretty strong. Good luck...
Thanks everyone!
Just a follow up. Tried a 32x19 and liked it better than 34x20.
But, 32x20 was perfect. Climbing was much better and it still had enough juice for the flat sections.
Cheers.
Everything you need to know about Mike V. Short story, he's a jackass, he's been doing this for *years* and is not worth responding to:

Stevenspass...keep it up!!
Hello...
I'm currently running 34x20 on my 26" SS. I definitely want to gear down a bit. I'm thinking of 32x19 or 32x20. I need a new front chainring anyway. Anyone running those gears? I live in Seattle so the trails around here can get a bit hilly. Lots of folks do it around here with...

It feels like a very good compromise of both, which is largely the reason I'm so happy with it. It definitely sticks to the ground quite well...then again it's a 9" travel DH bike. I definitely didn't buy it to "go around stuff". lol...
edit: Hey if you have any more questions about the bike...
I can't comment on the DHR, but if you like to jump you'll be very happy with the El Cuervo. I ride mine at Whistler quite a bit and it feels fantastic on the jump trails (A-Line, Freight Train, etc). It's very stable in the air...and of course on the ground too! I would buy this bike...
That's RMC. I do know of a suspension place in Woodinville and a dealer recommended one in Enumclaw, but I was hoping to find something closer and open on weekends. I thought it was something a moto dealer could do, but apparently not.
Thanks. Forgot to mention I also called DHZ. They are an authorized Avy dealer but they just send them in to Avalanche for service. I'll try GHY and FluidRide.
Can anyone recommend a good moto shop in the Seattle area that can service an Avalanche shock? I just need a nitrogen charge. Craig @ Avy and others have mentioned that "any moto shop" can do it, but so far I called RMC, Suzuki Aurora, and Seattle Cycle Center with no luck. Chances are I need to...
Make sure there is enough space (~3mm) between the top of your steerer tube and the headset top cap. I had a headset that was loosening up a lot and that was the problem.
You only need to get that headset top bolt finger tight (ie. one thumb and 2 fingers on your allen wrench tool). Just...
Checked out the SST site...great shots man! Very cool.
Saturday was a blast. Sunday there was definitely some bad voodoo in the air after some peeps went down hard. See you back out there.

That park isn't a 'virtual' anything. It *is* a cruising area.
Yeah I know what you're saying. I live around the corner and rode my bike a few times back there to scope out some small jumps/drops people built. Then I realized the same thing you did. "Why are all these random guys hanging out...
Sure it was one-dimensional, but I sure did like it. The lift makes all the difference....at least for me. I've written them before, and I'll do it again.
They (or someone for that matter) cut some new cool trails for the races right before the end of the last season. Too bad ... I really...
I have an 03 RM7. The bike handles very well and is fun to ride. But you'll probably experience some of the problems Jm describes in the post above. I went thru 2 shocks before buying an Avalanche and the linkage cartrige bearings do not last long. They are simply not strong enough to withstand...
I think it just takes time. A bad crash is scary as hell. I had a bad one at Whistler about 6 wks ago on Goats Gully. I was pretty surprised at how much confidence I had lost the next time I went back up. Everything was making me nervous. Although, with each run I took I got more of it back...
