If I remember correctly, the switch from Trail to Gravity mode for the 27.5" models does affect the BB height, but the Crush/Plush mode feature on the 29ers does not affect the geometry in any way.
Haven't switched my Smash either, still in plush mode!
Here is an authentic picture of Kidwoo after explaining why, despite being a smooth rider, 29er wheels aren't stiff enough for his liking
n.b. just kidding, I was just waiting for the right opportunity to use this picture, after 2 years!
n.b.2 GG Monarch Camping Weekend, so it's "relevant"...
I can confirm the above! New bike is newer, and very likely faster! About 10-15 rides on mine so far!
(First Gen 26", second gen 27.5", Revved Gen 29")
I'm a strong believer in Steel hardtails too. I had a few Chromag, and a Cotic.
None these days though. Riding a Megatrail, and a Gravel bike (steel too though). Next winter, I may be building something like a carbon Honzo or a Transition.
My revive has been working flawlessly since July, a lot of abuse, and many miles popping wheelies seating down.
It works well, but has some serious play in it now. Will rebuild before the Spring.
Good times indeed ! Good rides, good beer, and good people with a permanent smile on their faces !
Are we talking about the wheelsize on Kidwoo's bike?
I really hope I'll make it to Sedona now. Even if one will say that place sucks !
I mostly made fun of you two when, during an "Epic Alpine Backcountry" Ride, you were comparing the size of your fannies and trying each other's.
But yes, I ride with one most of the times now... Still haven't forgiven myself.
I know they are quite popular in France. I had one but I'm getting rid of my Pike, so it's out of it now. Honestly, that was a nice fork with that, barely heavier. For fun trail riding like intended in that thread, that was a blast !
I have a NCR Ti with the stanchions and lowers all messed up, but the insides are good if you want ;)
Or, other solution, you contact CrConception in France, and he can make a spring for your Pike or Lyrik, rated for your weight.
I remember a talk about this exact V10 on a french forum. And there is also a Mondraker Summun that has been modified to have only 160mm or rear travel.
These bikes are far from stock, they have a specific combination of angle sets, offset bushings, limited stroke shocks...
