Um, pads won't help on a fall like that.... It'd be nice, but all they are good for is preventing stitches. if you fall hard enough to break something it was going to break regardless of your pad situation...
The Dog river trail also pretty fun to ride, not very technical (at all) but its a long fast and flowy descent. DH bike is overkill, I"ll usually take my trail bike and ride up it, but i've got no problems doing the shuttle thing with the big bike.
Syncline and Post is where you'll...
Ah, need to update my location. I'm back in Portland OR... Getting my Whistler fix on, heading up Wednesday. (This is going to be a good riding season).
Someone has to vote for Anthem, I don't want the trail crew to stop building stunts.
So I'll vote for the drop. I like it and do it about half the time I hit the trail.
And a step up on that big rock would be a great addition.
I bailed after about 20 minutes of waiting. What time did they start the lift back up on Sunday?
I will say this, up until they closed the lift, the conditions were sweet...
Thanks for putting me in the video, I'm the dude in red just before you fade to black... (I had to pause it to make sure).
Next time try and get me off a drop or something :o)
Mountain Bike action put out an article about the $2000 trail bike. The Giant Reign won hands down. I've got the VT and its an amazing trail bike. I just went on a ride this weekend that had a 4 hour climb and had plenty in the tanks for the decent. This thing also handles just fine at the...
Yeah, now I'm starting to lean away from Whistler and the North Shore and dusting off my XC bike for a nice XC ride. Its time to get into shape for skiing season.
A few riding buddies and I are thinking of heading up to Whistler for the closing weekend. The only problem is its raining like a Stinky. Who has ridden it wet and is worth it?
The other option is to do a North Shore run and save some money on lodging.
I prefer the liters at the duty free for my heavy consumption. Less crap to get out of the system before a ride.
I head to Canada at lease once a month and I've noticed that if you have expensive bikes on the car, they usually just ask a few questions and waive you through. I mean who's...
Bigger is better with travel. I'm up to 8in and with the suspension it climbs like a 4in travel (excluding the weight). What you really need to consider is what are you going to be riding. I have three riding buddies and here is the progression of bikes they have had over the last three...
For sure go with the hydro's. My trail bike came with Avid Mechanicals. If its wet and muddy, they wont work. I got ride of them after that ride. hfx - 9's, I'd really look at those. They are bomb proof and not much more $$$. They are super easy to maintain. I have the last year's 9 on my...
