did a bit of research, and while I didn't find any information on the project, I did find out that the fork I have is not the 'all mountain 2' but rather the 'am2' which lacks the all mountain's travel adjustment and ssv open bath damping.
looking for quality tips from folks with experience here. I have an '06 marzocchi All Mountain 2, fork. I have put very few miles on it, because its a bit too long for my taste at 130mm. Other than the travel length I really like the fork. What I want to do is drop the travel (and overall fork...
almost forgot to mention, an inherent trouble with vagabond couch-surfing is that I can't very well keep tabs on the forum, so if anyone can help me out give me a call at 360-970-5475 or e-mail me at 'niall.macgregor@gmail.com' or 'the_niall@singlespeed.net' thanks.
Some of you might know me, but probably not unless you live in Olympia and frequent olympic outfitters, rode at my old house on the westside, or spent a lot of time in capitol forest summer before last, as I use the forum primarily for trying to offload my ever-accumulating collection of bike...
in my search for a new place to live I'm leaning toward ashland. I will be moving in the spring or summer, and I have not yet decided where to.
I'm curious about Ashland's weather, could someone give me an idea of what a year in ashland is weatherwise? I'm desperately trying to get away from...
I currently live in olympia, WA where it seems like everyday september through may is 50 degrees, rainy, and grey. I'm in the proscess of selling all my stuff, so when springtime rolls arounds I can get outta town. My only problem is; I havent decided where to move.

I periodically have road bikes and parts that I need to sell, as well as occaisionally need something to buy for a road bike. I am definately down with having a buy and sell section inside to road bike forum for this purpose because the general buy and sell is dominated by mtn bike stuff, and it...
late 70's steel lugged road frame handbuilt by 'miki' in osaka japan slightly modified to be simply single.
not sure what the size is, but I'm guessing between 58 and 60
I built this bike from scratch to be my commuter at the beginning of the year, starting with a brand-new powder coating.
I...

I know this is a pretty late announcement to be making, but the demo has been bumped back to Saturday September 3rd. This is due to new permit regulations in the forest, we were recently informed that in order to host an event with an expected attendance of 20 or more persons, we would first...
good start, but just one? If anyone is even remotely interested, please leave a post, there is zero obligation here, I'm just trying to get a notion for who wants what, and how much of it.
On August 13th The Bike Stand and Olympic Outfitters are hosting a Kona demo in Capitol Forest.
The exact location in the forest is yet unknown, but I'll update this post when more specific information comes into focus.
The demo is Free and open to the public, and we are more than happy...
I'm certainly not fixed to using hayes, actually I have been unimpressed thus far, it just happened to be what was on hand. I do however, apprciate the availability and the affordability of replacement parts for the hayes system.
I am interested in hope's products, especially their 'mini...
My number one suggestion would be an azonic steelhead frame. It's a bombproof frame built up around the basis of urban/park/dirtjump riding. it has replacable dropouts in case you decide that singlespeeding is not for you, and best of all it retails somewhere in the range of $350 (depending on...
I have indeed concidered that option, but I do live in the northwest, and ride in the perpetually muddy capitol forest where the unrivaled stopping power and modulation of hydraulics in adverse conditions is certainly appreciated. not to mention the benefits of a fully enclosed non-corrosive...
I have somewhere in the neighborhood of a decade of serious riding under my belt (in some form or another), and just as much tech experience.
until recently I have always run linear-pull brakes on my mountain bikes, and in doing so, often utilized BMX brake levers to accomany them. The...
