I've seen a couple of Deliriums on mtbr around 33-34 lbs. Most are running air fork and air shock, though. I decided to go coil / coil on the Delirium because my Moment is air / air and 32 lbs.
The Delirium frames retail for between $2700 and $3000 depending on what shock you choose and whether you run a QR or 12mm thruaxle rear. The majority of the parts are from a previous build (Ellsworth Rogue).
I just got my 2010 Knolly Delirium w/ RC4 built up this week. It's supposed to replace my Rogue (38lb 8in travel beast). But, the Delirium turned out pretty beefy as well. I have a lighter wheelset (Industry 9 Enduro) and a ti spring on order for local trails. I'll keep the DH wheelset for...
My new Jones Spaceframe / ti truss fork arrived today. I dropped it off at my LBS to have the build completed this afternoon. They had it finished in a few hours. It's set up as a 1X6 running a 6 speed modified XT cassette on a set of Industry 9 singlespeed 29er wheels. The complete build...
I recently decided to build up a FR / AM burly hardtail that can run a 160mm fork, have a reasonably slack HA (67-68 deg), and be reasonably light. I looked at several frames, but decided on a Sinister Ridge. I got it back from the shop today. It's ready for it's first ride. She weighs 29.3...
I never have seen the need for a bike with only 4" travel. But, I came across a great deal on a new 08 Ellsworth Tiruth frame. So, I sold my Seven Duo frame to fund the Tiruth and used parts from the Duo to build it. The medium frame weighed a decent 5.4 lbs and the bike comes in at 25.3 lbs...
I'm eager to hear how the Endorphin rides! How much does the Endorphin weigh? I looked into a Knolly DT a while back as a possible replacement for my Rogue. I ended up keeping the Rogue and doing some upgrades. Anyways, enjoy the rides and let us know what you decide.
As it stands with DH wheelset and DH tubes, she is about 38 lbs. I had it down to about 36 lbs with a lighter wheelset / Stans sealant before. My Rogue also has the older rear dropout / solid steel thruaxle, which is heavier than the current bikes. Even so, it does ride amazingly well for a...
If you are adding to your short list, definitely consider the Pivot Mach 5. I've only heard good things about the Pivot. You may also want to consider the Titus Moto-Lite and Ellsworth Epiphany. I used to own a ML and loved it. I currently have an 07 Epiphany and an 08 Moment - they are both...
All the bikes you listed should be excellent trail bikes. But, I don't think any of them are Horst Link bikes. The Ventana and the Turner, I believe, have faux-bar suspensions. The Ibis is DW link. And the Knolly uses their own four by 4 linkage. You are probably best served by trying to...
At your price point ($1000-1200), you can get a pretty nice hardtail. Or, you can get a reasonable full suspension bike. If the trails near you are mostly smooth singletrack, a hardtail will suffice. If, however, there are significant technical sections (both climbing and downhill), a full...
I have an 07 Epiphany and an 08 Moment, so I definitely don't need another trail bike. But, if I were in the market for one, I would be looking at the Pivot Mach 5 (big Chris Cocalis fan). I've only heard great reviews for the Pivot bikes.
I recently decided to change the look of my Ellsworth Rogue. So, I swapped out a few parts to add some color and built up a new wheelset (with a spare hubset). I really like the way the bike turned out. But, unfortunately, I don't get to ride this bike much. I'll have to plan a trip to...
I recently built up my new Vassago Optimus Ti. I really haven't ridden it yet, except for around the driveway. So far, it feels very nice. Lighter than my Gunnar Ruffian 29er and perhaps a bit stiffer as well. Here are a few pics. I'll post a ride report after I've had some time in the saddle.
