Please do keep us posted yuro. I'm pretty stoked with the geo of mine right now but I've only had the bike since sept. and all the steep stuff here was closed by then. So, down the road I could see wanting that maybe. As of late the only riding to do is driving to Bootleg and the Fontana...
Been racing/beating on my new Glory since the end of Sept. '09 and it's been great so far. My build isn't quite this light, but it's sitting at 35lbs 14oz with heavy pedals. Not to shabby.
It's funny you say that, this weekend at the race there were a bunch of guys standing along side the course during practice teasing some guy, yelling "go Sam!" because he was riding a red demo with black Boxxers. Kinda sad really.
Go to the 8" setting and give it a try. It seems to ramp up a bit more in the 8" setting and not wallow around in the mid stroke as bad. At least give it a try and see. Something about that 8.5" setting is just funky. Almost feels like the rate falls at the end. For me the bike just felt...
Last ride of 2009. That statement alone makes me depressed! We've already had a bit of snow here in UT so I'm afraid this is the last weekend of lift served riding. Oh why does the riding season go so fast? LOL Great video by the way.
slowmtb, I certainly wouldn't say this new Glory is a plow bike at all really. It feels really similar to the Yeti 303r in how it handles and it's quickness. Does fine through rocks but not what I would call a point and shoot bike. It jumps extremely well and is really easy to bunny hop over...
The 450 will probably be a little firm for you. I typically like my suspension pretty soft in the back though. Try it out and see what you think, but I wouldn't be surprised if you want to go to a 400lb spring.
Actually running a 400lb spring. 500lb felt like a hard tail! Haven't thought about what brand of Ti spring. Usually just run the RCS due to the fact that I can pick them up locally. I know there not as light as Obtanium or others. Should be able to get it just a touch under 36 or right at...
Yeah the ti spring is coming. Just wanted to get spring weight sorted first. As far as the link bothering me, the last ride I didn't notice it so much. I did have knee pads on but I just adjusted my riding position a bit and problem solved.
Yeah, you read it right. I enjoy building and riding bikes I guess. It's fun to try all the different stuff out. Unfortunately the only way to really do it with DH bikes is to buy them and try them. Unless your buddies all buy different stuff. I don't have a wife around to bitch at me for...
Again, in case you missed it the last 5 times...65.5 degree HA with my build. Not imaginary numbers from Giants web site, real numbers from my bike. I don't want it any lower or slacker, I like it how it is. We were doing it to see what the BB, HA would be just because we were bored, it was...
I have to say the TR450 piques my interest as well...I think I need to lay off frame buying for awhile though! lol Maybe when I get really bored this winter and need a fix. :D
I just dropped the bike off at Go-Ride for those guys to tinker with a bit and Kris brought up a good point. We threw a 2.5" stroke RC4 on it just to see what it would do to the geo. The BB with that shock was sub 14 and the HA was a touch under 64 I think...yet the bike still looked steep...
Ok, I'll try and do this short and sweet and remember these are just my humble opinions so take it all with a grain of salt. Here goes.
Intense 951: This is the most adj. of my three bikes. You really can have
three bikes in one with this one. BB is really low which...
I'm gonna take the bike in there today and drop it off. They will probably get some pics up to settle this HA debate. I will say that I was there building the bike and when we finished the first thing we did was weigh and take measurements. My bike as it sits in the pics was 36 lbs and I...
Thanks spocomp. For all those worried about the HA of this bike just try one out and see what you think before passing judgement. I was fairly skeptical at first myself but was proven wrong. The bike just seems to defy what the geometry would suggest. It's a fast bike that's fun to ride and...
