First ride on the Reign X today left me a bit boggled. Small bump, drops, and general reactivity was incredible, but much to my surprise, this bike pedaled like crap.
I honestly have to say my Sunday pedaled FAR better than this bike in its current shock setup... Slays it actually in...
on paper, a Reign X sounds like what your looking for.
This is exactly the quest I've been on for a while and coming off an IH Sunday, I'll be sure to have a full review as my 08 Reign X1 with a DHX.5 AIR should be here in about a week.
I know for a fact that Giant voids your waranty if you run a DC fork or one that exceeds the Ato C length of a Fox 36... but I still have'nt found anyone with real first hand experience with trying it.... mostly just alot of opinions and speculation on what may or may not happen if you do...
I'm sure I can find one at an online retailer too, I'm just first looking to pick one up off a fellow monkey who may have one with no use... like if there's one in a drawer on the work bench for a Sunday that long since gone
thanks though.
Carnage today when I bent my hanger in and caught the x9 in the spokes tearing it in half.
Anybody have a spare Hanger they would like to sell?
Thanks!
hmmm.. good to know I was considering a izumi from my current Sunday but the long stays were a turn off to me too.
you should check out a demo 7... sub 17 stays on a 7" bike with adjustable DH geo.
Its a matter of preference I think. I allways err on the small side as long as the frame has a decent wheel base. ( Im 5''6")
Incidentally are you interested in a small Sunday USA Factory frame?
Custom decal work on my Sunday and also the ghetto mud flap in between the uprights for the rear triangle can be seen here too. Kinda cool as it extends down to lay over the DW link and keep the "bird's nest" from developing there.
