    Some pics from this weekend

The prudent question to ask here is, "anyone hit the 3 piece above the road during the race besides Armando ?" Yo Matt, can you re-calc' my score ? I'm just sayin'... :)

    Stealing Rocks Form Colonade

Not to worry, the homeless got that covered (pun intended)... and I'm sure they're droppin' a few "rocks" of their own to make it an official park...

    My new toy...

Actually, if you don't mind, I'd be interested to hear your comments once tested, as I am gathering info before deciding on a shock for a Dare. So far, I'm leaning towards the DHX but the Roco, although not a platform shock (yet), it has attractive features. Thx !

    El Roco...

It's nice to now have an option from Marzocchi. I see a lot of plusses right off the bat with features and ergonomics... also that it is user serviceable without any special tools and that they are looking to make it a platform shock eventually. Not to mention that it is a cool lookin' tool...

    Onyx (by DTswiss) rear hubs...

Well, as I said, I took out the freehub so as to expose the pawls. I noticed that one of the pawls broke and the lose pieces kept grinding away and chipping chunks off the engagement points on the freehub. My guess is that if I just replace the pawls/spring kit and not the freehub, I'll not...

    Onyx (by DTswiss) rear hubs...

I've managed to shred mine on my Heckler in a year and a half. Took it apart and noticed that one of the pawls busted, and as it floated freely within the freehub, it mangled the engagement points. Looks like it needs a spring and pawls kit and also a new freehub. $50 my cost. Questions I...

    another manual thread

My experience tells me that one should first learn to hold a wheelie while not "chasing after it"... this meaning, not having to pedal to keep the front end up. I assume most ppl are capable of holding a decent wheelie before moving onto manuals. One should be able to do a wheelie in pretty...

    New at Ellsworth...

Here lies a problem... hearing is good but feeling is believing... Trust me, in the 2 full seasons of riding Whistler, Shore and the usual stuff if anything were to go wrong with my Dare outside of normal wear and tear, I will not hesitate to communicate it ;)

it's all about disseminating the truth, regardless of it's pain... and of course, all pain goes away with a pint of Shakespeare Stout

    New at Ellsworth...

hahh, interesting commentary... I re-read my post and I agree, I did sound like a total fcknut. But what the hell, it's all good. I'm not to up on forums and the net chit-chatting but I gather that there's a strong dislike for TE and the Ellsworth products... Don't get me wrong, I'm not...

Just getting around to catch up on '06 stuff and thought I'd spew here too, so bare with me for a minute... I got to chatting with a couple of bike shop owners, then visited some virtual booths and saw some interesting stuff from the Ellsworth camp. I try to keep up with the R&D at Ellsworth...

    New at Ellsworth...

I got to chatting with a couple of bike shop owners, then visited some virtual booths and saw some interesting stuff from the Ellsworth camp. I try to keep up with the R&D at Ellsworth every now and then. As you can see... http://content.mtbr.com/TRD_12_212crx.aspx ...they are...

    Downhillzone in Seattle

UniversalCycles has been solid for me every time ! I've only dealt with Beyond Bikes once. A friend of mine had been interested in replacing an old bike he had. Gave me his credit card and told me to get him solid bike for a good price. I had my eyes set on an Ellsworth Moment. After...

    Downhillzone in Seattle

I think it would be pretty naive not to think that even our favourite shops don't see their share of unhappy customers come through their doors. Not to defend DHZ entirely, but how funny is it that bad service always gets publicity, it's rarely that the good service is broadcast. We learn as...

    What Intense tires?

Intense DH tires definitely feel more moto. But aside from the weight they are great tires and pretty bomb proof. In my opinion, I think you'll eventually get used to them. It's easy to get comfortable riding Maxxis, tho', like the Minions... if you ride in wet a lot, these tires are the...
