I've been riding a Quake since they first came out and absolutely love it.
Mine is set up with a Cane Creek double barrel and Fox 36 vanilla up front. It has gotten me through the gnarliest of DH runs.
Between the Quad-link suspension design and the double barrel shock the rear end tracks...
Well, I don't want to write a whole dissertation on the subject but I will throw in a couple of thoughts.
1) For starters ditch leg presses and replace them with some real lower body exercises (and do more than 1 leg exercise).
2) that you need ot vary your routine some. If you want to...
How are the trails at Wisp? Or for that matter how is the riding in MD over all? Baltimore is on our list possible relocation spots when Shay graduates. There's a lot of jobs in that area for both of us and its beginning to look like a very attractive option.
Like Bean said, Rest is definitely an important part of the equation.
2 Other things that can help, Sport Legs and the Magnificent Mobility DVD. Its a bit pricey at $50 but well worth it for anyone who is serious about any type of training be it strength conditioning in the gym or long hard...
With an aluminum frame you can easily stay in the 25lb range which is about what Mohshee''s P3 weighed (and my Woodman weighs about that) with the way we had it built.
Some of the parts I run aren't the first thing that comes to mind when most people think Urban/DJ bike but so far I haven't...
I would say your really need to re-vamp the weight-liftign sections of your program. Your friday routine is actually pretty cool but your weight sessions could definitely use some improvement.
For starters, I would say that with your goals you don't really have anything to gain by Isolation...
Indeed, the "fat burning" or "aerobic" zone as being the fastest way to lose weight is indeed a fallacy and is basically just a misinterpretation of some factual data.
Last year we were on the road when we found out about the annual Bike Art show that takes place in Colorado Springs and only had a couple of pieces with us that we could submit.
But apparently it was still good enough that we were invited to participate again this year.
The showing runs from...
Hmm.. what browser are you using? I just checked it out with Firefox and it seems to be working fine. I did notice that we never updated the blue_bike product page with the smaller prints that are available so i'll get on that soon.
Here's a link directly to a product page to see if it...
I'd just let her ride it as is and I bet she'll do just fine. Sure she'll be walking some things at first as she gets used to the stand and hammer aspect of running a taller gear but she'll get the hang of it soon enough. When Mohshee takes out my Unit 29er she doesn't seem to have any...
Not being of the female variety myself I don't really have any first hand knowledge but I'd suggest checking out Harlot. Mohshee has been pretty pleased with her latest Harlot purchase and the Houlihan short looks pretty durable.
Personally I'm a big fan of the Fox Misfit's as they are comfy...
I know you've seen a million of em by now, but we got her built up today so I thought I'd share.
We stripped down the old Banshee to use the parts for the new build.
The build went off without a hitch, and even the chain guide install came out perfect on the first try.
Here she is all...
Yeah, that whole album is a lot of fun. My favorites off the album are Doomsday, Saba, Shotgun, and of course the Bumblebee Tuna jingle.
Some other favs include Mr Cranky and Los Miserables Brass Band.
The DH there isn't too great although if you can arrange a shuttle for Doctor's Park that can be great. And there are several ski resorts within a couple of hours that have awesome DH (Keystone, Vail, and Winter Park. you can skip Snowmass and Breckenridge IMO).
I was tempted to toss that...
I'll have to agree with that. Especially if you are riding that much and hitting the gym twice a day. With that much exercise you need to consume more, not less otherwise your body just goes into starvation mode which pretty much counteracts any benefits you'd get from all the exercise...
