I emailed one of the engineers at MIPS about this very subject. He said that they've been using wigs on their test rigs to simulate the built in slip with a person with a healthy mop of hair wearing a loosely secured helmet. He said that with the force of a standard impact the friction between...
:spam::spam::spam: I think I might have just the thing.
Check it out, and shoot me a PM if you think it might do the trick.

Not to be an ass, but the combo of question and name are cracking me up right now. I generally don't worry too much about how much my bike weighs when I'm hucking to flat either.
Agreed about collegiate nationals this year. The mountain has a few trails worthy of a National Championship event, but Gypsy is certainly not one of them. I wouldn't write off the whole mountain because of that though. Even last years course skirted some of the more technical sections of...
Ok, so someone comes on to Ridemonkey, and posts an innocent question, carrying with it the underlying suggestion that maybe we, as mountain bikers, should be more aware of the environmental effects of the products we ride.
Eight pages later, and we are now locked in a heated, emotional...
I don't think you necessarily need to learn the other 3 before being able to bunnyhop. I agree, you need to be able to properly pull up the front end of your bike (i.e. with straight arms and body position rather than trying to yank it up with your upper body), but I don't think you need to...

haha, the green kids helmet and the belly hanging out of the shirt really make it. Oh, and the fact that he's getting his ass beat by a guy in lycra shorts.
Can you really scrub a significant amount of speed by scrubbing? I was always under the impression that scrubbing was a way of getting your wheels on the ground quicker by taking the kick out of the lip, just like sucking up a jump (but a lot cooler looking).
It worked fine to me up until just after Fort Bill. I was enjoying being able to watch the full replays for the previous races (didn't want to wake up at some ungodly hour to watch cause i'm lazy), but after Fort Bill everything on the sight just took ages to load, and forget about the full replay.
I'm going to be going to college in the bay area this year, and I was wondering if there are any winter race series (fontana-esc) in the anywhere nearby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I had this problem with my bike for a long time. Thinking it was a problem with the fork, I asked Fox about it and they told me that I had probably forgotten to put on the little silicone ring which goes on the headset between it and the upper fork crown or stem. In fact I did forget to do...
