For DH, Wheel World in Culver City is much better than Supergo or Helen's.
I'm also voteing for The Path. It's a very small shop but they got everything for DH all crammed in there! .. also the guys that work there are really cool guys and all ride.
I know that as far as Azonic bars, the stock width depends on the the rise.
The 1 1/2 inch rise bars are 27"
The 2" rise bars are 28"
I like 27"
But I do notice a diff when useing 28". Less energy to keep it steady when it gets rough. But do feel too wide when going between trees and...
I'm sure after that, the next thing will be mp3 implants...
If funny how they're calling it "new technology" for the shorts. It's just shorts with special pocket that holds mp3 player.
I have to say, there is a big difference in stopping power between 6" and 8". If you do DH runs at ski resorts, then 8" is a must I think. But I do feel like 8" is too sensitive for normal rideing for the rear (although you get used to it). I was thinking about putting 7" disk in the rear...
So is it the law to have lights on a bike at night? What state were you in? What about in California?
I remember a cop told me that is against the law to have any head-phones when you ride a bike.
It says he was riding in the middle of the road. I can understand getting a ticket for that. It's dangerous even to be walking in the middle of the road drunk. What if he was riding on the sidewalk? ... would that be different?
I'm not trying to build a "huck machine". I have a DHi for that. Like you said, the 5.0 is made different (from taiwan with cheaper tubes) than the 2.0. The 2.0 costs more and is lighter. I'm just trying to see if the 5.0 is just as stong if not stronger.. that's all. No big deal, it's...
Hmm.. I guess I need to be more clear with my question. I was asking about the 2003 (or is it 2002?), it's the model right before GT was sold to Pacific. I'm compareing models in that year only. Between the 5.0 model and the 2.0 model. I know that the 5.0 model is cheaper made and is...
I got a really good deal on a black GT 5.0 frame and I'm building a do-it-all play bike. My questions are as follows:
1. I know that the 5.0 frames are different than the 2.0 models. 5.0 is heavier, so that does mean it's a bit stronger than the 2.0 models?
2. I took out the shock on...
