I've been using a titec scoper on my DH bikes for years. It allows me to raise the seat enough to efficiently pedal without the cost and weight penalty of a true dropper post. I think it's a good option for DH frames with short seat posts.
I didn't mean to reduce this thread to a price discussion. In my opinion, all DH tires are overpriced. This is evidenced by the fact that you can buy Maxxis moto tire for $48-$118 (I just looked it up). Maxxis tires are awesome. That's why I still buy them. It's just that I wish the side...
Great review! Thanks. Have you used them enough to notice if the side knobs hold up a bit better? I love the DHF and HR tires but always seem to rip the side knobs in a way where they become very flexy or feel like they are folding over on turns. I know that you can't expect longjevity from...
I just put one of these in my 2010 Team Boxxer and have to admit that it is definitely an improvement in suspension quality. I only have one weekend on it but was thinking I'd post a little mini review after a few more weeks (I'm going to whistler and than to a local DH race). I do think I...
Does anyone know a company that manufactures shock offset bushings in the United States? The only company I could find that makes them is Burgtec and it gets a little pricy with the exchange rate. I don't really want to deal with a machine shop.
Thanks
I also had lasik surgery a few years ago. It was one of the best things I've done for riding. I don't have any problems with dirt bothering my eyes.
Man I hated contacts.
I've never ridden the TR 450 so I can't compare the two. Two things that stand out about my carbon V10, though, are the fit and ease of maintenance. I'm 6'4" and this bike is one of the few that feels like it really fits me (I like larger bikes). Also, this bike has truly been a pleasure to...
It looks like Cane Creek has a lower angleset headset cup that allows you to run a tapered steer tube on a 1.5 headset. I've been debating this option vs. running a 1 1/8 steer tube. And yes I do want a singlecrown on my "trail bike" so I can do the occasional Xup. What can I say, some of us...
I'm thinking of running my cable through the steer tube on my AM bike so I can spin the bars a bit (at least attempt to). This quick release hose adaptor might be nice so I don't have to rebleed the break to get the fork off and on the bike.
Thanks for the info. It's good to hear that it is a rare problem. Do you guys know what tune vivid coil the V10 uses(my guess would be high)? I'm thinking of getting a spare shock. I like having one regardless.
Yeah, this sounds right. The mechanic from the shop who walked by when it happened said it was potentially fixable. He also said it would take a vise and would explode like a rifle and possibly shoot part of the shock out when I took it apart. Not very practicle at a race. Shocks are put...
Illnotsick, thanks for the info. This isn't what is going on with the Vivid air. I was told that it actually burped internally. I'm not the only one that has had this problem and I have been told that not all of them do this. Who knows? They are replacing the shock.
The thing with the...
I'm loving my XL frame. I have to admit, though, that I'm a little bummed with the parts that came with it. My Cane Creek Angleset creaks (actually sort of clicks) on occasion. Not anything crazy but enough that I am already replacing it. Hopefully it will do better on my "everything but...
