I don't see why the trails wouldn't be ok to ride this weekend after seeing the forecast - just expect leaves, small limbs and an occasional tree down. As for the upper Windmill trail, you might have to avoid it for now. Apparently Coal Creek has been doing some more "landscaping" up there...
HaHa Mueller, great minds think alike! :)
What a great event for Windrock. Nothing but good times all day long. That was pretty cool watching those lights make their way down the mountain. Hope to see more pics posted and really look forward to seeing what the film crew comes up with...
Trails are fine right now - we didn't get much snow. It just depends when the rain comes through, which looks pretty likely for Fri. now. Trails should be ok by Sat. afternoon if it's out of here early Sat.
Here's a couple links to some local forecasts you might keep an eye on although...
With the warm weekend as expected it'll probably be a good one to come down. Only thing is, you'll have to do your own cleanup where the trails need it. Probably plenty of debris lying around and who knows how many trees down. Was up there Sunday with the wind blowing pretty hard - twice...
The trails are still a little soft from all the moisture and cold weather we've had lately, but it was drying out well from all the sunshine and warm weather today. There's debris down here and there, but as far as riding, it's your call.
That jump near the exit just started falling apart so it was removed for safety reasons. No vandalism involved. I plan to be up there in the morning so I'll give ya a trail condition report tommorrow. I bet it's a bit sloppy right now though.
edit: As Chris said.
Keep an eye on the weather - there's a chance for rain Saturday. Also, more of the upper Windmill trail is lost from the encroaching mining operation, so for now you'll have to access it from the midway point on g1.
I'll bring my bike, but I've got the building itch right now so we'll see. Not sure what day I'll be there yet. If Brad comes this time make sure he brings along lots of extra bike parts. ;)
Too bad the weather moved in as early as it did. At least you guys got some riding in. Ya might give us a little more heads up next time you come - especially this time of year. Here's a few pics of the sloppage that resulted from the conditions.
Not officially, but plan a weekend and post it up and I'd say you could get a few of us locals and maybe some others to show up. Call it the Tweety Invitational if you will.
The camera liked you that weekend. Hope ya heal up soon - there's always next month.
Or maybe start a new one, :lighten: although I plan to mostly ride. Hope to see you guys up there.
I had planned to post this up after the Fall ride, but with the bike "in the shop" this past weekend I was able to wrap up shooting yesterday. This is a collection of footage starting back in the Spring. The quality loss on the upload is more than desired, but I guess it'll do. See ya'll this...
