You can get it to around 27 pounds easy without too many 'weight weenie' components. Pedals great and handles awesome downhill. Agile as a cat and able to groove downt he rockiest downhills.
I love mine and don't know of anybody who owns one that doens't also love...
Try posting rides on here: www.socaltrailriders.org. We have tons of rides and riders from socal there. I'm sure you'll find people to ride with there.
