Hey man,
Its been a long time since I was on a forum:
I think that in the past several of the Nuke Proof springs were Manitou, before they got 'Rebranded' in the back of a warehouse somewhere in the central belt... (bout the same time as Manitou were looking really ropey in the UK...) No...
I'd be tempted to leave the bushing in the shock - the wear in the bush will be minimal in use -I've got one here thats been in for over 2 years and the bikes been hammered - zero play(at this end!) makes it a bit easier to remove if you'd ever sell the shock and significantly reduces...
This link should help.

A DHX is fine on the demo 9 - the first batch might have some contact if you run in the high bb position - but a tiny bit of file work on the pro-pedal knob if your into that sort of thing. Low BB is fine.
Think...
Try more high speed compression and less bottom out resistance on your shock - the older demo's had much more ramp on the leverage than the new ones - this is virtually the only difference between the current demo 8 and the old 9 (+ a few bags of sugar!).
Hey Dave;
Did you give the wrong pat. number? I can see some results and a outline of methodology though the calculation is missing -I'd be really interested in your working.
Cheers
While placing drive force in the way that you suggest will have an effect on acceleration squat, again this is not the only aspect to consider, anti-squat is the sum of all of the factors reducing acceleration induced compression of the system.
Using chain torque is a very direct way of doing...
Axle path, he's right - all he's saying is that its not the most important point of suspension design; dynamic leverage ratio etc. have a much bigger role - it doesn't matter how good your path is if the rest of the system is wack!
I thought that bike was made at the request of Chris Porter (Mojo) as he felt the pivot was better positioned there, and Orange had no further plans to continue with this pivot location. May be wrong thou! :)
What is the spring's ID required, I know you previously gave it as 1.5" are you sure thats the case?
If it is many off the shelf springs will fit, Romics have a 2" ID. (There are no vivid springs in the UK...)
Cheers
From the information you've given I'd agree with that, provided the damping coeff does not change with displacement/acceleration - though I'm not much further down the line than you at this stage.
I'm analyzing the displacement of the shock while in use - and have been using this information to...
Orchid Shoes - their designed for bmx's so are almost perfect.

I'm a full convert to these - they feel just right, stiffer than most skate shoes but not crazy stiff like most of the DH shoes. I've not tried the 5.10s' but with syncros pedals the last thing on my mind is...
Just to confirm - the Hope lines are Goodridge hoses, but the fittings are not the old gdridge ones but their own. They use a similar setup to standard shimano hoses. I've used both and couldn't tell the difference on a pair of Mono4's but Goodridge fittings are def. a better design... (much...
I didn't realise that the core rats were plastic, they look like thin rubber on the website - sounds a lot better now.
Does anyone know of a european source? After last weekends crash I'm getting protective over the steed...
Who make's them? Are they any good? I've put a few scratches and chips in the stanchions of my 888's and don't want anymore!:nopity: It makes me want an inverted fork again, as rocks just seem to attract to the uppers of my forks whenever I come unstuck.
I've seen the Core Rat ones but ain't...
