I help lead a beginner ride also and I love it!
Mountain biking is so much more than who can go the fastest. It is so much fun to hang back with the girls who are just getting into it, and to show them all the stuff that I've learned the past couple of years.
I still race, but I'm not...
I have Poverty Hustler pedals on all my bikes and bought an extra set for whenever I get a new bike. You can get them at danscomp.com (bmx website) for 30 bucks. You can get non-sealed ones for 20 bucks but the Hustler ones are better. Highly recommend them.
Sport?!? No way, no way! :)
I think I'm going to sign up for beginner. When I think about race day and doing the whole course it just makes my stomach turn over. But I really want to try. I've got some time to practice, so hopefully I'll get better at drops and stuff.
Are you going to...
So who is doing sea otter this year? I maybe, might, really really want to, but I'm not quite sure, sign up for downhill this year. :) I got to walk part of the course this weekend and it was really beat up.
Anyone going to try Super D, or cross country?
Oh ouch, sorry to hear about the crash. You know, it's all a matter of perspective. You're beating yourself up because you don't think you ride as well as you want, and here I am thinking "man I wish I could ride half the stuff she does."
Be well :)
This is my boyfriends Cheeta. I borrowed it to ride the bmx track and now I am in love with it. It's so fun to jump!
This is the Cheeta in action. It's such a great bike!
Believe me, you can fall off of fluid trainers. I'm living proof, embarrassingly enough.
Even with ipod, and mt bike DVD ROAM on the TV, I can only handle 40 minutes on the trainer. Soooooooo boring.
you'll have to come out with me to Carlmont sometime. I can't jump anything out there, but I like sessioning the downhill stuff. It's good practice for Sea Otter. :)
I'm scared of the rollers. My BF keeps trying to get me on them, but I would feel really stupid riding indoors with my fullface and pads on, and that's what it would take to get me to ride them!
I got a new trainer, set it up wrong, fell off my bike and bruised my butt. That has to be a new record, falling off a stationary bike. Sigh.
Training sucks.
It is the best kind of fun to have someone who is always down with riding when you want. Now the question is never "do you want to ride?" but "where do you want to ride today?"
Pinkster-obviously you were riding with little boys. :P
Spin class. Bleah. :P Hopefully it won't be as rainy here in CA as it was last winter, so I'll get to ride a little more. But on rainy days, it's spin class and lifting weights.
I've been going to spin class in hopes that it will make me faster at cross country racing.
I had a great ride at Santa Cruz last week, but now I'm looking at a week full of rain and more spin class. sigh.
I bought a FMS cruiser a couple of months ago, but I've yet to go ride it at the...
