Homegrowns havent been made for 6 years, yes. a lot has changed since 2000...external BBs, shimano dual control, SRAM empire, Virtual piviot point suspensions from Giant, Intense, Haro, Santa cruz, and DW link... full suspension is now the standard, not hardtails.

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

yes, and apparently everyone is a saint who attends church on Sundays and never does anything wrong. I haven't called anyone a name or wished crowbars into their windshields, BTW.

And sorry about your friend, but there are mean people out there that are evil. That was another point of mine, some people just shrug it off and some people stop and back up.

I only take the recumbent out on paved, multi-use trails where there are many joggers and bikers who can see how awesome I am. People in cars just laugh at me.

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

Now, I won't call anyone names here since I'm sure all of you never ever speed, come to a comeplete stop at stop signs, and always slow to a stop when the light turns yellow. In fact, there are so many people doing 55 on the highway, it's great!

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

Why would someone throw a crowbar into my windshield? That doesn't even make sense. Not sure why they call it the city of brotherly love...murder rate is pretty high.

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

I was driving a car. I have never been on that road with a bike as there is no sidewalk and no shoulder.

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

The parked cars (2) are on road perpendicular to the main road about 30 feet back. There are never any children on that road in the year that I have driven it twice a day. There are no children standing at what I assumed to be a bus stop. There are no signs saying "Bus Stop Ahead" They may be...

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

Allow me to elaborate: I realized I was going too fast, esp. with school buses out and about, hence the slowing down even before I saw the guy wave his arms. I was going too fast, indeed. My point is I thought that guy was annoying.

Attn: To those who think they own the road:

So I was driving to work on this back road this morning where the speed limit is 25. It's a winding downhill stretch. I was going about 40 and slowing down when I spot this guy standing at an intersection where there are cars parked in the morning (I'm assuming waiting for their kids at the...

    Need a Fork

I've owned Fox F100 and TALAS, Manitou Minute, and Rock Shox Reba forks for XC. F100/TALAS wins over Reba, but only by a bit. Manipoo is just that, poo. Fox is just so smooth, no marketing gimmicks, but it is pricey.

Home Securiity: Should I use a big cable or chain to lock up my bikes?

I agree. Paste up the words "Freedom" and "Liberty" in 72 font to the wall next to the bikes. It works against terrorists according to Dubyah.

    Crank with bashguard for XC??

Thank you Skookum for uttering the first normal-person response. I'm sick of all of the "bike shop employee" responses (the ones that aren't meant to be funny, anyway) If I want to hear things like "God, learn to ride better" or "You can't bunny hop a three foot log? Ha" I'll go down to...
