Homegrowns havent been made for 6 years, yes. a lot has changed since 2000...external BBs, shimano dual control, SRAM empire, Virtual piviot point suspensions from Giant, Intense, Haro, Santa cruz, and DW link... full suspension is now the standard, not hardtails.
yes, and apparently everyone is a saint who attends church on Sundays and never does anything wrong. I haven't called anyone a name or wished crowbars into their windshields, BTW.
And sorry about your friend, but there are mean people out there that are evil. That was another point of mine, some people just shrug it off and some people stop and back up.
I only take the recumbent out on paved, multi-use trails where there are many joggers and bikers who can see how awesome I am. People in cars just laugh at me.
Now, I won't call anyone names here since I'm sure all of you never ever speed, come to a comeplete stop at stop signs, and always slow to a stop when the light turns yellow. In fact, there are so many people doing 55 on the highway, it's great!

F100/TALAS wins over Reba, but only by a bit. Manipoo is just that, poo. Fox is just so smooth, no marketing gimmicks, but it is pricey.
Thank you Skookum for uttering the first normal-person response. I'm sick of all of the "bike shop employee" responses (the ones that aren't meant to be funny, anyway)
If I want to hear things like "God, learn to ride better" or "You can't bunny hop a three foot log? Ha" I'll go down to...
