Ha.. good thread.
I quit last week, with nothing lined up. Just been riding alot and working on moving to Portland... where the economy is even worse!
Oh, and quit my 7 year corporate job ;)
He's right. Buy used, and buy what you can afford. Just make sure you use your resources before buying... otherwise.. you will spend double when you have to buy another bike LOL
I'll be heading to the Salem/Dallas/Falls City area this weekend.. could anyone from the area PM me some good DJ spots? Just something to go hang out and have a little fun.
I do know about the Blackrock day on Sat with Santa Cruz, but I'm picking up a new hard tail... (so I want to ride it! )...
I would sway towards Black Rock. Its closer to I-5 and a bit better this time of year. I was just at Post and it was super dry, still fun though. Black Rock is a blast, very well built.
I dont have to work sunday or monday (sorry Andy)... how far from the seattle area is this? I could be the chase car (as long as the road isnt too bad. I had trouble getting to the very top of post. Damn lowered cars!)
Its about 4 hours if you drive straight through (watch out for construction on I-5 right before ridgefield). I rode Post last weekend (105 degrees!!) its super dry and the dirt is like riding on ball bearings... still fun though. And when your done... you can head done the hill to the "beach".
Hows that working out for you? Not so well for me. Its really hard trying to induce conversation when I'm usually picking myself up off the ground... Or skidding across it... Or flailing through the air...
I'm with borneo.. Mrazek and the Whoop Section.. both lower and upper. You can shuttle that one (if you have a truck). If you drive up Skyliner rd... there is a "slalom course" off to the left (its legal and maintained).. it should actually dump you out in the parking lot of the Phils trail area...
Nice.. This is Josh.
I was up at Falls last weekend, so Im going to chill here in Seattle this weekend and ride locally. I might be heading to the Shore next weekend, your more than welcome to come along and make me feel like a beginner....
