No one has mentioned Easton. light, super strong, and available for most configurations. Easton's faceplate distributes clamping forces evenly around the bar eliminating stress risers and greatly improving durability. plus they look killer IMO.
Caveat: Yes, I work at Easton, but...
It's a shame this happened but at the same time it's a bigger shame that people couldn't exercise restraint and choose to only ride Jugs on rare occasion. We've had a huge increase in traffic on our trails over the last year or so with lots more people shuttling and building new unsustainable...
hey all....just wanted to give a little update seeing as a few years have gone by since this thread was originally formed. SNELL has a new motorcycle standard (SNELL 2010) that I feel is a lot more appropriate for off-road moto as well as DH than the previous SNELL (SNELL 2005) standard. I still...
seems to me this phenomena would depend a lot on seat angle. If the bike has a decently steep SA to begin with then I could see some loss of power from it becoming too steep with the fork lowered. However on a bike with a relatively slack SA, increasing the steepness should make for more...
I rode a Giant ReignX up there last time and the bike slayed the entire mtn and we also rode Khyber and some other off piste stuff. You'd honestly be fine with only one 6-7" bike but if you can bring two why not...
Reed broke the bone that's part of the pinky but actually in your hand. Already had surgery today, out for at least 6 weeks.
Chad didn't leave Suzuki, they had a 1 year deal and opted not to renew. He went to Kawi cuz it was his only good option. I don't think he's liking the bike as much as...
All snell 2010 certified helmets have varying EPS densities dependent on helmet size, not just Shoei. Most high-end helmets have a tri-matrix shell with carbon/kevlar/fiberglass weave as well. Shoe is a great choice though and they're known to fit most people very well and be comfortable.
Expanded Poly Styrene has an approximate shelf life of 1-year in bead form. Once made into headform of a helmet its more like 3-years. I wouldn't trust a helmet much if any beyond that. There's no need to spend big money on a high-end MX helmet just make sure you get a downhill certified bike...
sucks that the new one has minimal seat height adjustment. I understand it's a purpose-built bike and climbing isn't purpose but it would be nice to have the option for those of us who pedal our DH bikes on XC rides from time-to-time.
I for one wont get my panties twisted, I meant it when I said that I valued your opinon, and Id like to think Im capable of having a debate w/o taking it personal. And obviosly your credentials exceed mine so that speaks for itself.
I see your point. The vast majority of my CF experience...
Young Talent Industries....Is it just me or does that sound more like the name of a child porn movie production company than a bike company? no thanks.
